We really need some new City songs.
Not current or ex player or manager or United chants...some decent new proper Manchester City chants about City that will be mainstays of our atmosphere long term no matter who we sell or sign or sack or bring in.
It isn't. From where I am in 115, there were definitely more songs than normal coming from 119/120 which is great and I made a concerted effort to join in when hearing songs coming from your way, whereas some fans seem think it's a pissing contest and actually sing over a song that they haven't started themselves. As much as 114/115 is expected to carry the atmosphere and some of us in there put as much effort in as possible, I'm not precious enough to see my arse if a song starts elsewhere and catches on. That's the point of all this really - to carry the atmosphere further across the stadium.
i agree. the songs you mentioned more people join in with. they aren't sung enough for me, particularly ones like super city. i can't remember the last time ' you are my city' or city til i die' was sung at the ground. two classics that most people would join in with. the dzeko song isn't bad, but most people dont join in with it and tbh as a one off its alright, but not when we are going for a win. its a bit like the silva maestro of maine road song - a small group trying to get it going and no one really joining in.
at times i get the impression one section sings something and then another block purposely start singing something else, instead of joining in. 119 sing more classic songs and i think more people join in with them then other areas - because there more popular well known songs.

The Džeko chant is good and should be sung against Liverpool and those games when we’re 4-0 and going through a few renditions of songs for old players.anyone who keeps singing about Edin f'in Dzeko instead of singing about our current players, manager or proper City songs should get their season-ticket taken off them for the rest of the season.

I do that with we've got an M an A an N etc one of my favs that hardly gets a reddition, as is you are my City.

One of the things that I always liked about United crowds is that they always sing about their ex-players as much as their current ones.
I like it. Reminds people of our history and appreciation for players now elsewhere, creates a feeling of a big family almost. Also might remind the players on the pitch that we won't forget any of their great performances.
Am a fan.
Not for me, if we were playing Liverpool yes, or celebrating another title, or playing Roma, fine, when it's relevant. We don't sing about Summerbee, Young, Bell, Lee, we don't sing "Feed The Goat" or about Kinkladze or Tevez or even the Zabaleta song, unless we played West Ham. But Dzeko? It's constant, and not only that, but it used to be Caballero's song for a more recent success, and that was also a better song. Dzeko has other songs, we can't wind up Dippers when we're at home to West Brom, and in fact considering Sturridge played last night the Caballero song was more appropriate.
We have an awesome squad, many of whom we don't sing about. It would be like Nakamura coming out for his main event at Mania and everyone singing "John Cena sucks".
Sod's law by Leicester they'll have started "Mangala-la-la-la-la-la" to Amarillo judging by the way we can only sing about those who have left.
Colin Bell gets sung about to this very day. The Zab song got an airing last night, We've often sung about the Goat and Andy Morrison even in recent years. Horlock as well. Even Quinn's disco pants every now and then. We were singing about Terry Phelan the other week.
Are you sure you actually go to any City games?
Anyone who moans about fans singing about Edin f'in Dzeko to the extent that they think those responsible need their season tickets taken off them should themselves be banned from any City game indefinitely, and publically executed in City Square with it beamed live into the stadium.
