I love it when people call 110 south stand haha it's not its East the atmosphere was poor on Tuesday because of the amount of jive fans outnumbering city fans in the home ends in these blocks ,I mean hell today in 110 the 8 seats next to me were full at kick off after we went 2-0 down they never came back!! Shocking, the atmosphere is either not travelling around because in 110 we can't hear much from 115 116 areas but the West Ham fans were loud and deservedly proud. It really isn't a competition of who can sing the loudest.

111 was is the club manufactured singing stand as is the South Stand as much as 119 is hence the prices. It is for new fans who can't sing, none where there in 2003.

Atmosphere was piss poor today but think conceding the early goals and teh referee not applying the time keeping rules effectively added to this. No song could get going as the fans constantly had to boo the referee. Such an inept **** of a ref who can be added to list of ones who can't apply the rules

Hmm... In 111/112 many of the same faces are there from many moons ago.
Yea there was a lot more empty seats there pre-takeover but when I look around everyone else is singing...

I find it relatively easy to get a song going, always someone willing to chip in and get the song spreading.

As for "singing when we're winning"...
Sadly this is the direction it will go, there are still many people singing regardless of what the scoreline is

No, it wasn't great at times on Saturday, but at other times the support from both singing sections and the stadium as a whole has been pretty decent. Last season you would have heard a pin drop against West Ham.

The lesser games will always be quiet, especially when we're getting beat at home. The big games with the right results will produce a great atmosphere at the Etihad this season.

What I will admit is there isn't six hundred dedicated singers who have relocated to the new singing section. There's a couple of hundred at most, with others joining in as and when, and others not joining at all. In essence it's just like blocks 111' 110' 109. Not only that, many of the singers are spread around 115 and 114, instead being grouped together.

TBH I don't think anything will change any time soon as regards a real and dedicated singing section until the majority of the fans organise it amongst themselves. In my opinion the new singing section won't ever reach it's full potential unless this happens.

Saying that. The concourse before the match and at half-time is potty. It's not like that behind 111, 110', and 109, where I used to stand. I can only imagine what it's going to be like against the likes of United, Liverppol, Arsenal, etc.

The point of getting that section together, was for them to sing, they didn't. As for the early goal against us, well that's when the singing section is needed most!

Atmosphere was absolutely fine for me. Don't understand why the 'singing section' isn't singing for 90 mins irrespective of the scoreline, but in the rest of the ground I thought there were plenty getting behind the team & it was fine. Very different to last season.

Juve was utter crap but you could tell that when the teams came out. That's the Champions League & City fans aren't really convinced by it, whatever some might say.

Struggled to hear anything from our singing section on same level!

You get the best atmospheres when the singers stand at the front rows stand/block. The sound carries around the ground far better that way.

When singers congregate at the back of a stand the sound is gulfed by the overhang and only travels down the block. Therefore the rest of the stand struggles to hear any songs, never mind the rest of the ground.

Until the Singing Section realises this the atmosphere will never be much cop for non big Prem games (they take care of themselves) and will carry on struggling.

Totally agree with this have a look at the Juve game the first 10 rows were rammed with fans looked like 2 to a seat seen similar things around Europe on our away travels,we need to learn how to be better at creating an atmosphere,everyone to the front 2 to a seat pack it out and give it loads.

We were OK up there for the first 20 mins and the last 30.

We really should change and kick ss way on the second half as we tend to start slow due to mass back 9's which doesn't get/ help the crowd get involved.

I think @blue b4 the moon has a very valid point about kicking towards the South Stand second half.

Many times we need to get a goal second half and to kick towards our most fervent/loud supporters makes absolute sense, rather than towards thousands of kids with their parents whose first priority (rightly) is to ensure their offspring's safety.

You hear what you want to hear, and the people around you seem louder and drown out singing from elsewhere. I stand in the south stand 114 and have heard practically nothing from 110/111 all season. I and the people around me have been singing non-stop all season, including today. Despite not being able to hear them, i'm not idiotic enough to suggest 111/110 haven't been singing all season

Nothing wrong with a bit of friendly competition between sections but the chant in the subject line just came across as snide.

Bottom line is, a transformation into Boca Juniors isn't going to happen overnight, but the atmosphere is getting better and last night was better than most wins in previous seasons. Needs everyone to contribute and not just a handful of blocks - I saw the north stand contributing in the second half which was fantastic.

I don't even go to games anymore. Iv just given up with it. I just feel I'm not suited to today's fan. I want to stand, sing and get behind the team. Iv got to the point where I'm just let down time and time again when I attend games. To me, the atmosphere is the reason I attend matches. Without it, I might as well watch it at home.

I was watching on TV, and I thought the atmosphere was still much improved, you could hear the City fans loud and clear, for long stretches even after going back.

It was ironic how the commentator kept on with snide comments about how the city fans were silent, and invariably followed just after by a burst of singing.
