Single sex schools

Makes no difference. They might be a little later in getting it on with the opposite sex outside of school...but then that can only favour their education. Articles I've read tend to suggest better educational standards in single sex schools in general. Depends on the school of course. I'd see no benefit in sending them to a shit single sex school but if its a good school then go for it.

Went to NMHSB in blackley/moston, was a shithole ill admit to that and it didnt do any favours at all with the opposite sex. was ok though had a laugh and it was generally fine

Although someone did 'come out' after we left which we didnt have a problem with, the problem was he fancied his mate!

If its education you want, get them to a private school if you can afford it. It doesn't matter than whether its all boys, all girls oro mixed, as they wont demand anything less than 100%

I went to the local single sex school and left 5 years ago, it definately didn't help me with the ladies but that shouldn't be a massive issue.

The overall education I found to be better, as there was no girls to impress so people could go about doing all the work and not having to act up.

Out of interest which single sex schools are you thinking about ?
Loretto girls particularly, which i know is a top achieving school, its also a grammar school which in principle im opposed too. However the idea of going through her school years and not having male school friends seems very strange,i made some great female friends during my school days, and i'd even go so far as to say it helped me find the beautiful wife i have today. (no, she didnt go to my school). The more i think about it,the more opposed to it i am.I also dont have any sons.

I went to Loreto in Altrincham, its a great school and always has been. I 've loads of male friends though, and have had since my school days.........we all travelled in on the bus together from Sale . Dont think long term it makes that much difference to be honest

Ditto . I left in 87 . I thought it was a top school and the girls school was only across the road .
Had a few 'rumbles' with St.Matthews in The Clough while usually meeting up after school with girls who lived on the same estate that we lived on .
Plenty of sports at NMHSB and i left with good grades , but i believe it went abit down hill from 1990 onwards , culminating in this happening to the 'upper' school ..

Shame mate. Same thing happened to South Manchester High. Brought back memories that. Incidentally, I believe both schools were of similar design. Same style buildings, quads, etc. Even the gym had a similarity.

Sat my 11-plus at NMHSB. I was mightily impressed with it in '58.

urrr looks like you have a lot of info, but heres my piece. im currently in year 10 at an all boys school. there is a girls school, but not very near, although on the same bus route. ill be the first to admit your boy/girl will have less friends of the opposite sex, but i think its almost good. i see lads at my school who are totally sound in school, but when the girls from the other school get on, they turn into right nobheads. my school is the best (or 2nd best i cant remember) high school in trafford, with last year 90% of people getting at least 5 gcse's. as others have said, its quality of school that matters not the sex of its attendants.

If it is daughters send them to a single sex school - boys drag them down.
If it is boys send them to a mixed school - girls civilise boys.

I went to Burnage Grammar school as was, hundreds of years ago and it was bloody awful. Brutal, full of pedarasts on the staff. If you weren't into 'rugger' or football you were a pooftah. It was shit.
