Sir Keir Starmer

Most hated prime minister ever apparently, at least that's what Andrew Doyle said on Joe Rogan podcast (that's where I get my news) Only a matter of time now until we all hear the news that he's either resigned or been ousted.. can't imagine many losing any sleep

If a GB News presenter says something on a YouTube podcast it must be true.

not sure Doyle would have counted Pitt 'The younger' into his conclusions.....

I agree.

And to add more to this the Greens are polling 1% less than the Tories, 2% less than Labour and 3% more than the Lib Dems.

The two words holy shit come to mind.
Probably at one of them forks in the road where two party politics is no longer one of the directions.

The palantir connection might rule him out for the time being
I doubt it.

On labour party blocks he's got the most MPs if he needs them. However if Starmer decides he's standing all the new MPs will fall into line and support him.

Ange has the members but they don't count as much anymore.

I'm struggling to think of any other candidates that won't be seen as too lefty or a ****.

Ange traditionally has had plenty of members behind her...

I'm late to the cause but PR seems the only viable option for the future. The country is splitting itself into eight never mind two and everybody needs to feel and believe that their opinions are represented fairly.

The irony is that FPTP has always been defended as creating stability, how's that going then? It's much too easy to subvert democracy these days and FPTP systems are highly susceptible to manipulation. Even if those efforts fail they still leave us in a state of febrile and infantile chaos.

PR isn't going to be some magic panacea but it might dampen some of the worst excesses of our current politics. Given the political culture in this country and some of the bad actors in the shadows I suspect the transition will be a bit of a shitshow, but hopefully it'll give rise to a more mature generation of politicians. It should (unless we are so stupid we actively want to paralyse the country) also lead to reversing the centralisation of power in Westminster, plenty of countries function perfectly well whilst there are protracted negotiations around coalitions and they do so because lots of aspects of everyday life is devolved. This is how it should be and if it takes longer to form governments because more debate, negotiation and consensus is required then the payback is that we are less likely to piss the vast amounts of money down the drain that we do currently with wild swings of policy not just from one government to another but even within government. Don't know what the numbers are under Labour so far but under the last 3 or 4 tory administrations the average cabinet ministerial tenure was something pathetic like 8 months.

Well if we thought Starmer was unpopular I reckon we'll see another level of Streeting gets the job

The really sad thing is ............ ..........who do you trust full stop and im on about across all parties :( seriously what a shower its really become

I said I dont vote a few years ago because the choice on offer was (and still is) shite. Got hammered.... Its your responsibility to vote, your grandparents fought a war for the right to vote. blah blah. They didnt fight a war for this shower of lying, amateur, racist, double dealing, career politicians to feather their own nests whilst we put up with the absolute chaos they created.

I can't stand any of the political parties but Labour supporters are proper cultists they remind me so much of the lovable scamps on the Kop, it's like a complete obsession, almost like supporting a football team and talking about these 'civil servants' as though they know them, I don't know any Tories they obviously aren't as invested has Labourites not that I'd be crowing about being an ardent Tories however but they obviously aren't as obsessively invested in their rotten party as the other lot, who's beloved party like ALL the others are shite and the sooner that moron in number 10 is ousted the better for all of us not that I have any faith. Our Polticians are fourth rate at best, poor us.

It's been like this since that **** Blair became PM. Now only Reform have a chance of saving this once Proud Nation...
If reform take on any more tories they will just be the conservative party called reform.
These tories know where a chance of keeping their noses in the trough.
Farage being a Tory himself is creating a new Tory party and parading them as reformed people who have seen the errors of their ways.
Like his hero trump doing it in plain sight.
