Sir Keir Starmer

"In the year to June, London has attracted more cross border commercial real estate investment than any other city. It has overtaken New York as destination for fintech investment and it has increased its dominance of the world’s $6.6 trillion daily foreign exchange market."

I guess you could say that.

We all know that since Taggart retired, the rags have been going steadily downhill. No leagues, handful of trophies, out of the CL more than they're in it, one new manager after another, slowly sliding down the league table. Fortune after fortune paid out for one bad buy after another. World class player after world class player arrives at the swamp, turns to dogshit, moves on and regains their mojo. Once Moyes said they aspire to be like us and got sacked for it. Now OGS says we're the best team in the world - and repeats it - and nobody bats an eyelid.

Over on ragcafe however you can still find people who post links to and quotes from Jamie Jackson articles that prove the rags are the best thing since sliced bread. Back in the real world, anyone who operates within football knows the reality behind this kind of puff piece.

It wasn't your post that brought this to mind, by the way, it was one of the others. I'm sure you see the parallel.

This fella has a take on it - can't see it myself - a lot of what if's going on

It all makes much more sense if you assume Starmer is an Mi5 asset planted to steer the party away from dangerous socialist leanings, and that Boris works for Putin preparing the ground for a Russian invasion.

I think he has just achieved the impossible and surpassed Johnson and Truss as the most incompetent, duplicitous Prime Minister this country as had for ages.

Even surpassing the depths of lying and spinelessness that I have unashamedly held him in.

I bet he wishes he could do a "U" turn right now, or even a handbrake turn.

As the legendary Jim Reeves once sang.... "He'll have to go".

If you think he's anywhere fucking near Trump you're a bigger Nobhead than I initially gave you credit for.

Can you read? Why put forward an argument that hasn't been made by anyone here?

This is a point about British politics so please stop trying to defend the indefensible and deflecting the focus.

Trump hahahaha.

BTW, he has his own thread.

Maybe you meant to write Truss instead of Trump? But I'm not a mind reader.

You brought Trump up chief.
Starmer is turning out to be a waste of space, the country deserves better.
That's where I stand.

Spot on and Thank you. My bad and sincere apologies to @Phil1

You are half way to being one...

Was Mandelson so good that appointing him was a risk worth taking? Utter madness from the Prime Minister and a totally unnecessary risk. Weakened now, possibly terminally.
I really wanted Starmer to succeed but his only talent seems to be shooting himself in the foot.

Yea, me too. A steady adult leader is what we need but this one (and also the Winter Fuel silliness) were easily, very, very, easily avoided. You have to question what his advisers are paid for if not protecting him from obvious pitfalls.
