Sir Michael Parkinson dies aged 88

RIP.

He was a nice guy and the best interviewer for famous people (I always preferred Harty's show for the ordinary folk he got on though).
 
That's so sad.

I remember watching Parky as a kid. Not many shows that three generations of one family can all look forward to watching, literally from the age of 8 to 80.

The kind of presenter that while mainstream didn't treat his audience like they were total morons with the attention span of a goldfish.

Was a really lovely bloke in real life too by all accounts.
 
Now we're left with Graham Norton, Big Narstie, The Third Leg etc style shit . Used to be a time you'd learn something about the interviewee - apart from what they're flogging.
RIP the last of the true interviewers.
Harsh on Norton. He gets all sorts of stories out of his guests, a skill no doubt gleaned from earlier greats like Wogan and Parky.
