Site Speed Feedback

I'm juggling shit as we speak.

To be honest, I'm actually laughing my tits off, you just couldn't make it up.

MySQL uses the General by a simple formula:

key_buffer_size + (read_buffer_size + sort_buffer_size)*max_connections - over this = General

If we turn down any of the buffer_sizes, we go slow as shit. If we turn down Max_Connections, we get a new error saying:

"Too Many Connections"

Hence the juggling act.

Never seen this on bbc.com

What would it take to make this a rock solid, performing website/forum?

If it needs money, let's start thinking about how to raise the funds instead of how to manage without them.

What would it take to make it akin to bbc.com?

Several million quid a year funding, and a full time team of programmers and database admins?

To make it a rock solid website is something that we will be discussing when we meet on Friday. It will be sorted this weekend, for good.

I have an image of Damocles as Vishnu with his many arms operating many keyboards..... in order to allow an army of idiots to vent spleen on their chosen scapegoats.

We are not worthy of your efforts!
