Six Nations 2024

The IRFU looks after its players to a level that puts RFU to shame. Wales needs to follow their example, but the level of injuries for their 6nations squad was horrific.
I would love to see both league and Union take of globally (Germany, Russia and the USA),so players are finally getting rewarded for the level of physical punishment that they take.
Firstly get rid of the "must play in England" rule.

Wales can't follow the Irish model because they just don't have the money.

Leinster's wage bill is ~€13m. Their yearly budget is nearly €20m.

From next year the Welsh clubs will be on £4.5m. Not just for wages, for *everything*.

I couldn’t understand why with 4 minutes to play and after three or four phases, Danny Care put a box kick up and gave the French possession instead of running the game down keeping it tight in the forwards. The French had the ball back and England had to be careful not to give a penalty away by straying offside or going in off their feet or inevitably a foul tackle whieas extremely harsh

Surprised they didn't pick up on this more.

It's a long time to have to go through phases and run the clock down and there's always a danger you concede a penalty from a turnover, but it didn't make sense to box kick over sending the ball as far down the field as possible. At least then any penalty you concede wouldn't be kickable and there's a chance you could turn the ball over yourself with so much territory needed.

I'm sure the coaches will have picked up on it, but for such an experienced player to make that mistake, it kind of shows why he was in the wilderness for so long.

Saw an interview with Lee Byrne ( ex Wales / Lions) one of the first to play in the French league saying to get rid of the 25 caps crap and let the players play with and against better players. Like He, Roberts, Phillips and Halfpenny did
Gatland who I admire for past Welsh and Lions results must be shitting it with S/A and Aussie next up.

Ireland have the money to pour into their game, Wales hasnt.
Worse thing we ever did in Wales was go the region route & play Irish/Scottish/Italian & now South African sides, no one in Wales is interested.
Ask most rugby following Welshmen & they would much prefer to play our old foes the English clubs, sadly, England dont need us

I have feeling that will change

I think we will see a British & Irish league, probably two divisions. The Saffies can fuck off back down south & maybe the Italian sides could play in the French system or start their own league with the Georgians, Portugal and Spain

Why the big difference between wages in Leinster and the Welsh clubs.

I can't see Connacht and Ulster paying Leinster wages.
