Here we go again and this year kicks off with a cracker France v Ireland on Thursday night which is a new one on me.
Also the grudge England Wales match.
My tip will be the French ad they also play England at home.
Wooden spoon will be decided on whether Wales can beat Italy at home.

Is the Thursday start to avoid the Winter Olympics opening ceremony?

England should win it, but that's most year's isn't it? The prop issue could cause issues against some sides.
I've no idea if France have a back-up after the sad news about Antonio.
Scotland will hope to get the wins they have threatened, they need to do it soon if they're going to.
Wales will hope for a win against Italy and not to get too badly beaten up by England. I assume they still have the same problems as last year - the side and particularly the forwards are just physically too small.

Are Ireland still bringing in new players to replace the old guard?

I’m not so confident this year…we (Ireland) have some great younger players coming through…but we lack that solid consistency we had for a few years.

I’ll still watch every single game like i do every year.

England looked very good in the Autumn and the English lads were very good for the Lions (especially after the last Lioks tour where the English lads weren’t great).

A team on the rise.

I expect Ireland and France to be good too and can’t really separate them.

Wales to get battered in every game but the Italian one by 50 pts, Italy will only beat us by 20pts
I can understand your despondency.
But, I'm optimistic (or probably deluded) that Wales can get a victory this 6-Nations.
Italy at home seems the likely one.
As Northern Soul fans say : "Keep the Faith"...

I hadn't realised that the schedule for this year only has 1 rest week - play 3, week off, play 2.

That's going to make concussion hits more significant, and I can see the sides less able to rotate selection to be battered even more. I assume that's partly why Itoje is on the bench for the first match, with Scotland and Ireland to follow.

England and France will barely notice, Ireland and Scotland will be concerned, Wales will be vulnerable. Italy I don't know enough about, but would guess nearer Wales than Scotland.

England should be winning this. Its high time they did, especially with the depth in the back row and backs. Some injuries in the props but that should have resolved itself by the time matchday 5 rolls around and we head to Paris for what could be the classic showdown.

Is there any truth in the report that Arteta has been asked to coach the teams about tactics at scrums ?

Don't know about the forward pass the comms are talking about but the French right wing is great to watch.

But what are ITV doing with in-play adverts? That was ... ugh. It's bad enough having to listen to the dreadful ITV lead commentators without them doing stuff like that.

Wait till they start doing it in the premier league..
