To a man, they aren't fit enough, overweight and trained by rank amateurs.
The league is a mess with every club aside from Newcastle in a financial mess.
So you end up with a dross standard across the board.
The polar opposite of what is needed.
 
Been watching it a bit delayed, but after kicking the leather of the ball for 10 minutes, it was a bit prosaic thud and blunder. There has to be some way to pick a team who can take advantage of turnovers and broken field, but it just goes back to the forwards each time. The halfbacks just don't dictate play.

A mate is at the game although on a freebie with a mate of his - it sounded very loud at the end!

I'm not sure either side know quite what the ref was doing for much of it.

58 point difference would be very hard to overturn.
Its France's to lose. Ireland and Scotland will probably nullify each other. The only hope for Scotland or Ireland is for England to overcome France.

Yes, England need to win, unless Scotland win with 4 tries. The points difference is too high to not be in France's favour.

The France match being the last one means that they'll know if they need a bonus point.
 
I wonder how much of England's problems are down to the change in blocking runs for kick chases. I saw some stats that Steward's success rate had dropped by 20%, sides seem to have worked out how to compete.
 
Regardless of allegiances, these games are far more entertaining than football these days. Teams go about their business honestly and ferociously. They respect their opponents and the officials. They don't whine and complain when decisions don't go their way. They don't pretend they are injured or waste time.

Well done to the winners this weekend - Ireland, Italy, for finally beating my team, and especially Scotland, for their epic performance against France. Well done also to France for not giving up, to Wales, for at last showing some fight, and to England, for picking up that old City trait of unpredictability.

I think France have more chance of winning with 4 tries.
Its a pity the Ireland and Scotland match is on first of the three on the final day.
France will know exactly what they have to do.
 
On a side note, Borthwick sounded ill when giving his interview after the game, hope he's ok

Well I'm hoping our English brothers turn up in Paris. Its a long shot, but they should be hurting. When you come from these islands, when written off and thought to be done, we all have that, oh do you fucking think so, attitude.

It could all end in bitter dissapointment, but I have a feeling the English lads will stand up and battle. I hope they do, even if its not enough to help us. If the French think its a done deal, that should and will motivate the English lads. Remember always, Aye, do you fucking think so?

Being Scottish, I am fully expecting you will beat France and we fuck it up in Dublin. Its the way we roll.

Im not sure he's the answer. We have the same problem as the WRU.
A bunch of grasping self serving bastards in charge.
A league which is just waiting for the next club to fold.
Union doomed itself when it missed the chance to move to the summer.

Seen the improvement with Argentina over the years, Italy seem to be seeing a decent rise in quality now n’all.
