Just out of interest, what age is he? I just thought that pneumonia was something that the elderly got, and for some reason I thought he was around 50ish?

I'm 31 and spent two months in Stepping Hill over December, Christmas and new year just gone with pneumonia, sepsis and empyema, got a huge scar on my back where litres of a foul looking fluid was drained. Docs told me I was close to death afterwards and lucky, still recovering now.

Met skash a few times, always got on, hopefully he'll be doing OK very soon.

Glad you got through it. Close to death, Christ almighty. Were you surprised to have been diagnosed with pneumonia?

Heard about this on Saturday. We certainly had our differences but a totally genuine person and one of the most interesting and erudite posters on here. Really hope he's OK.

Absolutely. A brilliant poster I miss greatly on here and a damn fine chap to have a beer with.
