I remember when I was in Meribel, speaking to a guy who always spoke about the resorts he'd been to and was going to next. I was going to Val D'isere a few weeks later and the fact he'd been there ruined it for me.

Funnily enough I saw him again a few years later on a flight to Canada. I was en route to Lake Louise and Sunshine, with a short stop at kicking horse and he was still at it, throwing about resort names as if he was a big shot...not knowing id been to all of them and more.

What a c"nt he was.

Planning on going this year after spontaneously kitting myself out head to toe in lidl one day during their ski sale.

Have never been but looking at Val Thorens or Chamonix.

I'd a friend decapitated on a sled about 20 years back, so been very hesitant to do anything snow based, but otherwise I'm a bit of a daredevil/stupid fucker so I figured I have to do snowboarding in the next few years before I'm too old to.
