Earliest court date is in 9 days time.
Didn't either Maidstone and/or Aldershot fold mid-season??johnny crossan said:tolmie's hairdoo said:"SKY sources" are reporting Porstmouth have had their cash offer rejected by the Inland Revenue.
If this is the case, and they got into admin, all results against them will be null and void.
Along with Manure, this will affect us the most and we would drop to about eighth? Liverpool will gain the most.
Didn't we just know there would be some way of fooking up our season.
It's been whispered for a few weeks, but it finally appears Portsmouth could be made an example of.
Don't think the PL would let them go under, they'll just finish the season in administration with a 10 point deduction, last time a team packed up completely mid season was Accrington Stanley 1963.

Their biggest asset has to be the players on the books so to raise funds they need to still be there to sell them on, if not they are effectively released on a free. Ceasing them as a club would be a massive relative cost and would be insanity to do so. They'd basically be writing off £50 million pounds (I'm just guessing at what their players would raise as fire sale)to get very little back.

It doesn't make sense to end them as a business because they can still bring in a decent income by filling their ground plus, as you say, they have assets to sell. Administration will allow them to restructure their debts and reduce their wage bill, as well as making them more attractive to a buyer.Aicky said:OK has anyone thought it makes no sense to actually end them as a business.
