so my tv is 42" 1080p LCD are you saying sky hd wont work unless its 1080p????

Sky HD will work on your TV fine as it's capable of outputting in 720p and 1080i.

if you've got a HD ready TV, a HD box with a HDMI cable connecting the two, then i can't understand how you cannot tell the difference

footie, cricket, golf, sky one, bbc are all far better in hd than in normal - the colours, sound, everything is better

imo anyway :))

Im a Virgin Media Engineer, I can honestly say HD is far better. If you cannot see the difference you either have the wrong equipment or it is not set up correctly, all HD is transmitted in 1080i so you need a tv that can display 1080i. Also not all HD programs are recorded on HD cameras, it just upscales the picture and this is where people get it wrong you have to be watching a true (recorded in HD) programme to appreciate the difference.

There is a diffrence in quality from a program originally recorded in SD and broadcast on a HD channel to a true HD recorded program, its the same differance between a Bluray and DVD played in an upscalling Bluray player.

Sky HD EPG highlights all HD recorded (true HD) programs in yellow so you can tell which are upscaled or not, if your watching a hd channel and your struggling to tell the difference again you either have the wrong equipment, wrong setup or your watching a upscaled program.

Equipment and setup are vital, hdmi leads 1080i spec screen min.

Football in HD on BBC HD, ITV HD or Sky HD is amazing.

Get it ordered and enjoy it.

All of the above is so true.
