John Terry deserves to be there. Kompany's time will come hes getting better and better.
So who would you rather have in our defence Vinny or Terry? I know who i would rather have and it isn't that cockney twunt
Right now Kompany because he is getting better and i think Terry's best days are probably behind him. Doesn't take away from the fact that he had a better year 2010 than Kompany.

how does terry get put before kompany?
what has hutton or nani done?

Think Nani tops the assist table to be honest.

kompany = 19th
terry = 54th

thats overall premier player stats.

ummmmm.... the old blue-tinted glasses I think!

Kompany is still an average center-half who is getting better all the time, but still learning his position. Central defending is a lot about experience and learning to be in the right position, and doing the right thing at the right times. This is why central defenders dont reach their peak until their early 30's... those who rely on pace then go down-hill quite quickly, the true-quality central defenders stick around until their late 30's.

Kompany is still young and still learning... but is not (yet!) in the same league as John Terry (although if Terry ever recovers from recent injurys still remains to be seen!).

Kompany has all the attributes required to get to the very top if he keeps learning and keeps progressing, but he has been found wanting many times this season... usually through a lack of concentration, positioning, game-reading or pace... 4 games this season especially.... Wolves, Everton, Blackburn & Newcastle (although thankfully in the latter Lescott was excellent!)

The common demoninator in the 3 of the 4 games... NO NIGEL DE JONG!

At the moment Vinnie (and our defence in general) is being protected by the best defensive midfielder in the Premier League... if not the world!!!!

there is no blue tinted glasses here,mate...have alook at the link a couple of posts up,if terry has had the better year,why is he ranked 54th and kompany 19th?

TBH I'm surprised about Terry, Hutton, Cole & Carroll

Hutton is only back after a long injury he's good going forward but defensively suspect, Terry & Cole haven't impressed me and as for Carroll, good big target man but TBH I would put Berbatov in there ahead of him....puts on tin hat!!!

Because the media 'big-up' the players they want... and Vinnie is a media-darling.

Player ratings in the media are a biased joke and always will be!

all media outlets seem to be at it. my monthly 442 magazine was delivered yesterday and the main feature is the annual "top 100 players in the world". i decided to finish my cig and coffee before perusing through it whilst sat on the throne. i was thinking to myself that they daren't put the granny shagger above tevez as carlos has outshone him in every aspect during 2010.
i was trying to concentrate on my anul activities when i found tevez at number 29. i almost burst a blood vessell however, when mid-strain, i turned the page to see rooney at number 12! how the fuck can they suggest that rooney is the 12th best player in the world? what a farce.
