Margetson is there to make sure we get the ball back in action ASAP from the keeper :)
It was a home game not away. He only played one game at international level and just over 150 league games in his entire career, hardly qualified to make him England's goalie coach is it.I guess some get lucky. Margetson was a shocker - I remember him being played in the last game of the season at Goodison and he was so bad we had to take him off at half time. There must be a 1,000 or more role ahead of him for that job. What a joke.
I get what you're saying...but, wheres the law that states you have to be a great player to be a great coach? It was a home game not away. He only played one game at international level and just over 150 league games in his entire career, hardly qualified to make him England's goalie coach is it.
There isn't but surely you have to have some idea of how to play the game at a decent level and what is required. MM was one of if npot the worst keepers I have seen at City and I include the likes of Bobby Mimms, Barry Siddall and Simon Tracey in that listI get what you're saying...but, wheres the law that states you have to be a great player to be a great coach?
Some talent there!...There's plenty of experts on here, when it comes to tactics and teams who have possibly never laced a boot up.There isn't but surely you have to have some idea of how to play the game at a decent level and what is required. Pains me to say it but the GPC played over 300 games albeit in Scotland and played half a dozen games for Scotland. Granted PEG's playing career wasn't exactly illustrious although he was assistant manager under the likes of Sir Bobby Robson etc for siz years before making the move into management. MM could barely catch a ball yet here he is coaching the likes of Joe Hart, Butland etc. Is that the best we can do?Some talent there!...There's plenty of experts on here, when it comes to tactics and teams who have possibly never laced a boot up.
How far did the likes of Ferguson /Mouriniho etc get as players?....not great examples i'll grant you.
Ha...given the current manager, I would suggest that yes, that is the dream team. I'm curious under Hodgson ( international playing exp?) who was goalkeeping coach?...surely not still Clemence was it!Pains me to say it but the GPC played over 300 games albeit in Scotland and played half a dozen games for Scotland.
