I saw some very worrying things in that Slovakia game. On quite a few occasions all our players were within a 20 yard square. Often when the ball was on one side of the field, the opposite wide payer was pretty much central, therefore offering no width at all. I can understand condesing the field against superior opposition, but agaisnt Slovakia we should have been making that pitch as big as possible. Sterling and Lallana should have been hugging the touchline all game, creating space and channels.
Allardyce needs to change his mentality quick. He still thinks hes the underdog and his first instinct in not to lose instead of playing to win.
Oh, and that fucking pube headed twat thinking hes Pirlo.
its only one game. i dont think you can judge his team or the way we play for a few games yet properly. the underdog/good defense is exactly what we need in tournaments. we should follow the lead of wales. poorer quality players then us, defended great, worked as a team. as long as we get through qualifying though I couldn't care less if we play shit.
