Slovakia vs England - Euro 2016 - 20/06/16

It's come to something when I genuinely can't summon up enough enthusiasm to watch my own national team play, but that's precisely how I feel. I just don''t care about Hodgson, couldn't give two fucks about Rooney, can't stomach seeing Ratboy in the dugout, and the bile spewed by Shearer and his cohorts is enough to put me off football for the rest of my days.
There was a time when I used to have my hovel festooned with England flags, we'd have balloons and posters up on the wall, friends and neighbours around, loads of booze and an Indian takeaway, and I'd spend the entire game screaming: "Come on England! Come on England!" But fuck me, those days disappeared faster than Shrek's hairline.

I'd like to say I'm indifferent towards England, but It's way way past that. And the sad thing is that I cannot see things improving. And as a born and bred Englishman, proud of my roots, it saddens me.

It's an age thing too. I used to go and watch England a lot (i'm 55). Went to WC in 1982. These days i want them to win and watch on tv, but
if we lose i don't get upset like i used to, when younger.
Also City weren't the side they are today. These days i bother a lot more and expect a lot more from City.

you know, it's almost like Stones is moving to City judging by the fact he can't get on the pitch this summer.

Not everything is anti-city. Firstly, he's still currently an Everton player and whether that changes soon or not, the vast majority of fans both on here and fans of other clubs wouldn't of picked Stones in their starting 11 after the season he's had. Smalling and Cahill are rightly ahead of him

England: Hart, Clyne, Cahill, Smalling, Bertrand, Dier, Henderson, Wilshere, Lallana, Sturridge, Vardy.

Slovakia: Kozáčik, Hubočan, Pekarík, Ďurica, Škrtel, Kucka, Pečovský, Hamšík, Weiss, Mak, Duda.

Cahill's bobbins without the protection of Terry.

Could get interesting if England go a goal down against Slovakia who I think are better than what a lot of people think...

I think they are a big confidence side. Get at them, and they struggle. Sit off them and give them time, they have a few dangerous
players who will lap it up.
