Slovan Bratislava (A) | CL | Post Match Thread

What a complete abomination of a tournament this is now. Absolutely pointless extra fixtures with basically cannon fodder. 9 games tonight, 5 of them won by at least 4 goals. And if we, as fans of one of the teams who is dominant, can see it, and don't find it particularly entertaining, how is it being viewed by everyone else?

The format hasn’t had time to take shape yet. It’ll make more sense after the Juve and PSG games.

In the old format, we’d have had to spend £30 watching the EDS beat this lot again at home.
It’s the absence of the HvA that I’m finding hard tbh. And there has been some absolute spankings already

A nice and easy run out for the boys and good to see the squad get minutes.

We missed a load of chances but some of our goals were quality.

I don't give a fuck who we play, i'll take a 4-0 away win any day of the week!

That was as poor a team as I have seen us play against in years. It was an opportunity for us to put in a top performance. I thought we didn’t get out of second gear. We are nowhere near ruthless enough. Hopefully it will come.

A bit too easy.

City need to take a bit more care in the final third.

I can understand City not going gangbusters: it’s a long season. Pep also doing a bit of experimentation. We saw again that Jack could play centrally.

Good game for Gundo to play his way into form.

Really struggling to get my head around this new Champions League format. I don't really understand it....it is great that people got minutes that needed them but apart from that, I don't really understand the point of today's game and looking at the other results too...That game should have been 5 nil by half time and it was only because people naturally take their foot off the pedal when it is easy and thought it was a crossbar challenge. There was a moment early 2nd half where Rico took a shot and not one of the 4 defenders tried to put their body in the way or even reacted.

One thing we need to work on is having so many players in a line when an attacking ball comes in from either side. We’re very disciplined at never getting caught with three players in a vertical line up the pitch, but when they get in the box, maybe because so many are young, you could generally draw a straight line through three players. They need to learn to stagger to give the wide man more options, otherwise he looks up and only sees the first man.

It's called champions league. They won there league played 3 qualifying rounds. They deserve to be there. Get a grip.
When the draw was made they were ranked 154th in the world.

36 teams is too many. All part of what Rodri and Bernardo have been talking about with too many games and pointless games that no player asked for or were consulted about.
