smoking at games

technically you are outside, no? (in the matchseat)
it is a bit overboard, i think it is a disgrace when they used clog up the toilets, throw them out.
but a fella on his 1st visit to the ground, no ticket, just a citycard (it may say no smoking in tiny writing on the back of a ticket)
could the steward not just see the offender, say put it out now, or your out?

are you saying he had no idea he couldnt smoke inside the stadium?

is no-one on a seat offered the chance to put it out. that they had made a mistake, i mean smoking in open air area, hardly in the cinema is it!

no its not a cinema, but the rules are still the same, doing it in his seat, in view of cctv and stewards is plainly stupid

i dont see why they should have just asked him to put it out, they have a responsibility to all the other fans around you to keep them safe as well

Can he not read the big fuck-off signs that warn of "ejection and possible ban"? It's hardly a mistake is it - if he's a Citycard holder I imagine he's been to enough matches to know what's what.

its an offence to actually smoke around the outside of the ground.manchester council policy is no smoking on their sites.

if it is that non-tolerant i think every steward should be saying "NO SMOKING" to each fan at the turnstile and aisles

for someone to make a genuine mistake, as a 1st time visitor and get turfed out is pretty harsh

everyone knows that you cant smoke inside the stadium at the very least, although as pointed out you cant anywhere on the site

its been like this for the past 5 years, at least even open air, in the country

were you sitting next to him?
if so did you advise him not to smoke?

i dont see how he could have thought smoking would have been acceptable
