Smoking bans outdoors are pretentious bullshit and I’m a non smokerThe entire campus is (supposed to be) smoke free, so we cant have designated smoking areas like at other grounds.

"Bad Diets Are Responsible For More Deaths Than Smoking, Global Study Finds. Some 11 million deaths annually are linked to diet-related diseases like diabetes and heart disease, a study finds. Researchers say that makes diet the leading risk factor for deaths around the world."Smoking bans outdoors are pretentious bullshit and I’m a non smoker
The point I was making mate is that they are still smoking and eating junk food and exercising very little.
Humans replace one vice with another, the "new" vice of drugs and burgers is going to kill them of in good time.
Although life expectancy is continually on the rise each year.
I’m not sure I buy into this.. all kids are fat fuckers these days, thing.
Gyms are packed with teenagers and early 20s.
In my day, the only people who I knew who ever went near a gym was the odd kid who did boxing. In fact, thinking about it, I’m not even sure gyms for general fitness that are on every high street now, even existed back then?
You don’t passively consume French fries and deep fried chicken.I use my eyes, the UK is awash with fat fast food junkies. The statistics bear my opinion out too.
Why did you suggest ALL kids are fat fuckers because nobody stated that? What was stated is that fast food is the new killer and it's a fact.
Fat fucks should take up smoking which will probably happen in a few decades again anyway.
You don’t passively consume French fries and deep fried chicken.
I’m a libertarian let people do what that want as long as it doesn’t impact me.
Maybe a post for a different thread but maybe, the NHS should introduce higher NI contributions for smokers and the obese.

People smoking cost the NHS so much per year is what they said at the time, but now we ARE getting fatter we can ignore these stats because it's convenient?
Yes, obesity is rising in the UK, affecting both adults and children. Obesity is a major public health challenge that's linked to a number of health problems and costs the NHS billions of pounds each year.
Children
- In 2022–2023, 26.8% of children aged 2 to 15 were overweight or obese.
- Obesity rates have been steadily increasing over the past decade.
- There was a sharp increase in obesity rates between 2019–2020 and 2020–2021.
Stats. prove that people are living longer each year to.
Anyway, discussion for a different thread probably. Time for pre Cheltenham beers now.
I like the smell of weed. It reminds me of my misspent youth. You do however passively consume weed that is being smoked, this suggestion isn't a way of penalising fatties or smokers it's just to point out hypocrisy.

I work for a Uni and when choosing a course students are now more interested in the quality of the gym and sports centre than the bars. We’ve just ripped out a load of bar and night club space and replaced it with coffee shops style leisure facilities.Although life expectancy is continually on the rise each year.

Ah fair enough, always thought the club had a final saying on these mattersNothing to do with the club. Manchester City council have a policy that there is no smoking in any of their buildings or sites. The stadium and surrounding area is therefore deemed a non smoking area. It’s unenforceable but no one should be smoking until they are on the Ashton Road (never know if it’s the Old or New one lol), Alan Turing Way or down at the fire station area.
...and higher NI contributions for those who drive too fast, or play "dangerous" sports, or "choose" to live near major pollution filled roads, or like to fuck hoovers, etc...etc...etc.... ;)Maybe a post for a different thread but maybe, the NHS should introduce higher NI contributions for smokers and the obese or heavily tax fast food..

Or more simply the tax & duty already paid on damaging shite like cigs booze fast food could be ring fenced for the nhs.You don’t passively consume French fries and deep fried chicken.

Life expectancy rises are generally due to the advancements in medication and health care provision, very little to do with lifestyle.Although life expectancy is continually on the rise each year.

Make the smokers walk down 5 flights of stairs and back up again for the privilege to smoke outside and rigorously enforce the smoking ban in the toilets.Or more simply the tax & duty already paid on damaging shite like cigs booze fast food could be ring fenced for the nhs.
On topic as a non smoker I don't get wound up it but sensibly the club should either enforce the smoking fan or design suitable accommodations. The doing nowt but turning a blind eye approach persistently will only antagonise those in both camps.
The other 55% & 69% are gym bunnies not drinkers.Fuck me does everyone jog where you live too?
Here's some real world facts to get your teeth into (Pun intended).
Overweight and obesity are common among university students, and are linked to a number of factors including poor diet, stress, and physical inactivity.
Prevalence
- A study found that 45.5% of male students and 31.3% of female students were overweight or obese.
- Another study found that the prevalence of overweight and obesity among university students was around 30%.
- The American College Health Association (ACHA) reported that 24% of college students were overweight and 16% were obese in 2018.
Its the council rather than the club (I think) to do with the leaseShame, because they could easily open up one of the exits and put a fence around it and let people smoke outside where it wouldn't bother anyone.
But common sense tends to allude the club. As you say other clubs have done this as not to inconvenience non smokers.
