Correct, we’re in 201 which have padded seatsYes i think possibly every seat in the east L2 is padded now.
Something else that strikes me is the narrowing of the price difference for cup games between Adults and FOC's. This has been gradually getting closer during the past couple of seasons. My Adult son & me are both SC holders and on the Cup Schemes and for the dippers game last week his seat next to me on EL3 was £25 whilst my FOC seat was £22.50. Now then, for a game like that I believe both were priced very reasonably, so I'm not complaining. My point is though that not that long ago the FOC rate would be around half adult price and this is now bound to have influenced a lot of FOC's not on the Cup Scheme to watch on telly instead. Which is probably what the City heirachy want in order to implement dynamic pricing.
I used to work for an insurance company and we had a big London Market (the part of the insurance world that includes Lloyds) operation.I don’t work in the crane or construction industry so it’s nothing more than a guess. Yes, there is a lead time into any construction project when cranes, steel, concrete, etc have to be ordered. The Coop Live Arena is an another example of that. I‘m 100% sure if City had decided to expand the North stand shortly after the South stand had finished, they could have procured the cranes. Even the monster crane which was used for the first time on the South stand expansion. Stand corrected. The South stand expansion was started in 2014. City have had 7 years to expand the North.
City did add more seats to level 1, but they took them out to install the new digital advertising boards. Our current capacity is now less than it was. We now need more capacity. :-?
Whilst were on the subject of cranes. A bit sad, I know. I should get a life really. :-) The most amount of cranes on the Manchester skyline at any one time was 82 cranes. Think that was in 2015? Could be wrong on the year. I’ll try and find the info. The current amount of cranes on the Manchester skyline is 39. Total taken from the Crane Count thread on SSC- MCR. Figures updated by Trident Rider. That says to me cranes are always available. What is probably more difficult is getting the right type of crane for a specific build.
If there are any people who work in the construction industry or work in the crane industry and can shed any light on this, I’d be very grateful.
I suspect that was more due to the price cap than a deliberate closing the gap policy. I’m guessing without the price cap, a cup game against Chelsea or Liverpool and they’d probably be looking to charge getting on for double that for the full priced ones and creating more scope for a bigger gap between pensioners/ juniors.
The lounge you get is quite nice - view of outside as well. The food is really good in ther - quite a decent choice. It is far better than Joe’s and much cheaper however.... it doesn’t give you access to away tickets (which due to the constant increase in hospitality is getting harder and harder anyway)Correct.
What does 93:20 get you above a normal priced seat?
The time to act was 10 years ago not just us football as a whole . I remeber people on here being shot down called not real fans etc etc when winging about being priced out its gone to far now to ever come back football didn't stand up as a whole and say enough is enoughIt’s not where we should be at though, is it. The club is much more than a business - it’s a community asset made for the people of Manchester. At the moment large numbers of working class people aren’t benefiting from it or able to attend.
We shouldn’t just accept being priced out. Without the fans the club is nothing.
You'll get no flak from me Jimmy, you've hit the nail on the head.Premier league ticket prices are now ridiculous , i pick and choose my games , mainly home discounted cup games now, its not that i cant afford it , i cannot justify spending £100 a game on ticket , fuel , parking , food , beer and programme for every game. There was a time when i would spend any amount of money and follow us all over the country but i am now a tight old bastard who will happily buy a Sky Sports day pass for £12 instead of sitting next to some prick with a half and half scarf who cant take his eyes of his phone for ninety minutes.
We still havl have plenty of die hard "legacy" fans and their sons and daughters being introduced to our club but our fan base has changed immeasurably since Maine Rd., my own sons and grandchildren have been priced put of attending games ,but on special occasions , birthdays etc.,i treat everybody and blow well over £300 , but that is few and far between.
My admiration for our supporters shelling out thousands of pounds every season is palpable , and we have some of the best support around , but football is no longer a working mans game , i dont no the answer to the costs and certainly not when our club are buying world class players few other clubs can afford.
Ive done my bit and attended nearly 2000 games over 60 years , apologies for the rant , but financially this world is going mad
