Premier league ticket prices are now ridiculous , i pick and choose my games , mainly home discounted cup games now, its not that i cant afford it , i cannot justify spending £100 a game on ticket , fuel , parking , food , beer and programme for every game. There was a time when i would spend any amount of money and follow us all over the country but i am now a tight old bastard who will happily buy a Sky Sports day pass for £12 instead of sitting next to some prick with a half and half scarf who cant take his eyes of his phone for ninety minutes.
We still havl have plenty of die hard "legacy" fans and their sons and daughters being introduced to our club but our fan base has changed immeasurably since Maine Rd., my own sons and grandchildren have been priced put of attending games ,but on special occasions , birthdays etc.,i treat everybody and blow well over £300 , but that is few and far between.
My admiration for our supporters shelling out thousands of pounds every season is palpable , and we have some of the best support around , but football is no longer a working mans game , i dont no the answer to the costs and certainly not when our club are buying world class players few other clubs can afford.
Ive done my bit and attended nearly 2000 games over 60 years , apologies for the rant , but financially this world is going mad
