As WS has stated that he wants to join the Rags and will therefore NOT be joining City any time soon, can somebody please lock down this thread.

I haven't found any direct quotes of him saying this, but my gut feeling tells me he'll make the move to Old Trafford very shortly, maybe even today.
Would that mean he takes a pay-cut in order to join them though I wonder?

I saw an interview with him on Sly Sports yesterday. He did say "Manchester" was an option IF he had to leave Inter...I can't recall whether the Sly Sports prick begging him to come to them asked him about "Manchester United" or just "United" but in either case, it was clear what the Sly Sports prick wanted and Sneijder did not have the look of a man playing mind games ("He asked me about United...I think I'll just say Manchester and let him infer what he likes...it's the Blues for me!").

at the minute mate i still think its up in the air!!! like dam said he could still go to the rags but he`ll have to take a decent paycut to do so which means we should surey still be in the hunt!!

Seriously, why would he take a pay cut to join them? I'm not trying to downplay the rag's attraction as a club, that would be myopic - but the people who would feasibly be so over-joyed at the prospect of playing for them that they would take a pay cut are largely unestablished players, this is a guy who has already played for Real Madrid and Inter.

I think for that to happen, he'd have to had it made clear to him in no uncertain terms there was no future for him at Inter, and have no-one else in for him.

He is in Ibiza so won't be joining anyone today.
