Selby is going the way of Peter Ebdon. Boring his opponents into submission with the (lack of) speed in his play.
I’ve not bothered watching the final and am just keeping an eye on the score, because I sensed a procession to the title for Ronnie. This year feels very much like when he won last time versus Kyren Wilson, and that was a dull final, albeit a lot closer than this one in the early sessions. Although I was rooting for Trump, I’d have preferred Williams in the final against Ronnie as it would have been a better match-up, but personally I don’t follow any particular player or style, I just want a close game. Ronnie’s just too good to bother watching but, as someone else said, his fanboys in the crowd are annoying. Now with White and the Hurricane it was different as they were generally the underdog. I’ve said it before but I will be glad when Ronnie retires, Higgins too. They are more attacking naturally though. They are the ones the people want to see, not just because they are characters.
Hendry was liked when he was winning more than Davis probably due to being more attacking than Davis.
Ebdon, Dott and Bingham ground out wins and were all quickly forgotten.
But that is great when it winds up his opponent. Quite like Selby and Ebdon myself, I don’t get this fascination with having to play shots quickly in a game that lasts two days.Selby is going the way of Peter Ebdon. Boring his opponents into submission with the (lack of) speed in his play.
He's entitled to play how he wants but I don't think he's doing himself any favours playing like he has recently. Snooker is a game of rhythm as well as technique and he's not only throwing his opponent's game off, he's doing it to himself too.But that is great when it winds up his opponent. Trump looked tired yesterday, I think the 17-16 semi final win took a lot out of him, he isn’t out of this just yet and at 14/1 maybe worth a cheeky fiver. He's entitled to play how he wants but I don't think he's doing himself any favours playing like he has recently. It's a shame for the spectacle of the snooker showpiece that Trump just hasn't shown anywhere near his best form but other than the first session against Williams, he's been like that for most of the tournament. O'SSullivan's to lose now.
I hope you don't bet too often, that's a fiver in the bin even at a million to one lolTrump looked tired yesterday, I think the 17-16 semi final win took a lot out of him, he isn’t out of this just yet and at 14/1 maybe worth a cheeky fiver.
No I don’t bet often but we’ve seen it before in sport haven’t we, where a team or opponent is dead n buried only for a fight back resulting in a win, for instance Spurs v City fa cup, City fight back to win 4-3 with 10 men, the odds on City that night were 450/1, Newcastle 4 nil down v Arsenal score 4 in 10 min to claim a draw, Cheick Tiote ( god bless) with the equaliser, you just never know.I hope you don't bet too often, that's a fiver in the bin even at a million to one lol
