Snooker

Higgins made people sit up and take notice with his exhibition like skills. Without him the game would probably still be in a dimly lit billiard hall.

Steve Davis the unsurmountable immovable object subjected to every maverick of every description and in the main winning out.

Met him once at crewe station. He was carrying his cue case, on his way to a tournament. Needless to say he was leathered, but was a proper gent with me (I was a bit starstruck, he was a bit of a hero of mine) I probably mumbled something stupid, but he treated me like I was his best mate.
My only regret is I didn't have the courage to ask for his autograph.
A troubled genius, he entertained us all. Even people who didn't like snooker loved Alex.
Rip

Edit, apart from that ref who he threatened to have shot lol

Watching Judd Trump sat theres supping water ever so politely is a far cry from back in the day when most chuffed on an Embassy no/1 whilst gulping a pint of lager. Potting robots devoid of charisma nowadays.

I think Snooker fans are watching Snooker for the action on the table.

Sure there's less 'character' in the event as a whole. But the standard of snooker now is much better to watch, so I think it's improved for the better.

it's Ronnie's to lose from here ??

How about a 147 break to win the title ? now that would be special
