He’s a cracking player but I can’t like him, can’t put my finger on why though. I hope Maguire stuffs him in round 2 but annoyingly it means he’ll be on BBC comms then if that happens. Will have to switch to Eurosport :)

I’m not his biggest fan. A born again Christian who is a little bit up himself.

No denying he's a good player but most players wait till their game is tapering off before heading to the commentary box. Murphy though, being the strutting peacock he is, is doing both. Must like the sound of his own voice. Suppose we should be thankful that he's not actually mic'd up while actually at the table. If there's any planned protesters making an appearance this year then they should throw whatever over his sequins instead of a table.

It really is incredible how easy he makes snooker looks. When he puts his mind to it he's completely untouchable
