Why would you buy millions of pounds worth of snow ploughs that would sit for years and years, need maintenance on the off chance it snows a bit. Airports I agree probably should be a bit more prepared but the same applies.
My daughter’s school is already preparing for cancel days! Christ I used to walk two miles in a snow drift to get to school, these days with H&S they can’t wait to close, I wonder if I can find the local authority for the absence.

It appears Britain, and even Britain’s Crown Jewel airport, is simply incapable of dealing with even moderate snowfall in the winter, which is a joke. A few snowplows to clear the plain roads and a few salt/sand/beet juice trucks to prep the roads ahead of time, and it wouldn’t even be a thing!

At least it’s great for the kids and young at heart, because it gives them a chance to have a day off and enjoy natures beauty!

Even Eccles got snow last night although the roads are clear now but my car is covered in it! The only day this week I HAVE to go out but that’s life. :-) :-)

The rest of Greater Manchester can be under 6ft snow drifts and Eccles gets a smattering usually. We get smug about it. *lol*
