Snow

Had one lad say he can't come to work because the roads are dangerous. Suffice to say the site manager told him to get a grip and get his arse in gear.

This country can be truly pathetic.
I called in at my mums on Friday to check if she needed anything. Sad to say it’s rare that I do that. The missus took a holiday and cancelled her shift in Liverpool last night. She went shopping to Sainsbury’s and said there had been panic buying yesterday afternoon. Do these people at the met office work for the government then.

The met office warnings combined with an hysterical media provide an excuse for people not to even try to get on with their daily lives and work, they induce panic and fear. Sure warn people there will be some snow, but then there should be a can do attitude by the authorities and planners.

It's easy for Manchester Airport to just close and blame severe weather. Same as the roads. 30 years ago they didn't used to shut the roads over the peak to Buxton as often as they do these days despite there being more snow. Now they don't even bother trying to keep the roads open, they just blame it on the severe amber weather warnings.

Said on the news that there was a severe danger to life and not to go out. When I was six I saw worse conditions and went out. It then proceeded to show people cold water swimming in Bristol harbour. This country is a joke with their inability to cope in moderately difficult situations. The rag dipper game is under threat as the snow is too much for the poor mites to deal with. I saw an NFL game the other week where the fans had to dig their way to their seats in Buffalo
The pitch should be playable. The only concern is for the fans slipping arse over tit in the confines of the stadium and LFC shitting themselves that there's 40000 compensation claims arriving on their doormat before the game's kicked off!

I just drove 6 mile to the tip, went past a taxi in a ditch on a sharp bend. Still clowns taking roundabouts at 20 to 30mph. If you drive to the conditions it's not even bad out there, but people are too thick and impatient and would rather risk writing off their financed shitbox.

I swear some on here would watch their own Nan slip on ice and bleed to death telling them to get up and stop being so dramatic.
I'm 60 years old, mobile and physically healthy. However, I fell in the snow/ice (twice in one day, going to and from work) back in 2021. I had slight concussion the second time.Since then I've really worried about going out in it.

On Boxing Day last week we were at a friend's house and I slipped on their decking and fell down 5 steps, seemingly hitting each one as I went fell. The decking was wet and a sodding death trap. The bruising I had was horrendous and I'm sure I cracked a rib as I'm still in pain when I move and it hurts a little when I breathe in.

I think if you have had a fall in bad weather conditions then you know how easy it is to end up in a right bloody mess.

And bottles concealed in snowballs being lobbed at the opposition coach.

Decking is a bloody death trap when wet, hope you feel better soon.
