cars abandoned everywhere..never seen out like it
Can you imagine what it'd be like if it REALLY snowed in this country?!!! A slight dusting of the stuff and we grind to a halt!! On the continent, and in Scandinavia, they get sh*t loads of the stuff and still have to get on with life!

Amen to that. A little flurry, and the entire London Underground system grinds to a halt.

Haven't seen as much as a flake ! But I know what you mean, when weather is dodgy down here it's severe weather warnings etc, north of Nottingham and it's deemed normal ! Southern Cnuts !

If we got weather like this all the time, then everything would run smoothly.

Most do come above ground at some point, though (Circle, District, Piccadilly etc). Take the Central line, which goes above at its extremities east and west: if it clogs at either end, the whole thing's knackered. Once 3 or 4 lines go down, then the whole system is fucked.

This was from last January: <a class="postlink" href="http://london-underground.blogspot.com/2007/01/snow-on-lines.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://london-underground.blogspot.com/ ... lines.html</a>

It would have been funny, if I hadn't had to walk home in the pissing snow.

Mental isn't it? There was a shitty sleet shower last week here in Bloomsbury, and that's been it too. Just you wait until those Tube lines get a wee bit on them...

Sure is, my missus keeps saying transport links here are crap, it took me a whole hour to WALK into the City. Quicker than bus or tube.

Tok the day of in case it snowed, hasn't as yet but i'm still hoping.

Missus went to work said it was fine but you just can't trust them.

If you're coming from Stoke I don't think it'll be any longer than normal. It's a bit of slush and that's it, maybe on higher ground it's a little worse, but I've not seen anything to worry about.

Thanks alot mate, its good to hear. I just heard that traffic has bad today in and around Manchester so was just wondering.

I cycled from Altrincham to the city centre at 5.30 this morning through thick snow on the road and falling snow. Took me about 5 mins longer than usual - no traction control, no ABS brakes, no nothing.

What's all the fuss about?
