So do you believe yet?

As soon as I read the tittle I knew it was Fbloke without looking at his username.

He has a certain style and genre. ;-)

Still more worried about us finishing 4th than winning the league, the top 5 is incredibly tight if Spuds win their games in hands.

There's a difference between believing we can and believing we will. I have no doubt that we can but there is so much that it down to us that will decide whether we will. I never for one minute thought that Chelsea would run away with it when they were despatching the cannon fodder at the start of the season and thought then that they would run into trouble if they had a few injuries. We have got to where we are despite some unconvincing performances early on and are getting stronger all the time. The potential blot on the horizon are the Rags, our vist to the swamp could be pivotal.

That is it.

I think as the season progresses and we continue to win the team will hit the home run like a train. If that happens we could possibly see the strongest finish to a season by a title winning team.

So there you have it. I believe. In fact it is only the last 24 hors I have come to this conclusion.

We won't win it this year, we drop too many points. Definitely a stepping stone though.

Everybody seems to be saying 'yes', and then saying 'but...'
In other words, yes we can isn't the same yes we will.
I'm with the others, in the 'yes we can, but that doesn't mean we will' catagory.

Also, re the 40 points, I have been distracted this year, but have mentally noted the 40 point mark a couple of times. Old habits die hard, especially when they used to keep me awake at night!

I want to believe, but at the moment I don't think we will win the title.

It really depends how many points everyone else drops though tbh.

I'm not sure.

I've mentioned in another thread that I still don't think we're the real deal just yet. We're just lacking a few things to really convince me that MCFC have landed as a proper top team. I think we're missing a dominant, big, hard man centre half like John Terry or Michael Dawson to play with Vincent Kompany. I think we need another Silva type player in central/attacking midfield to play alongside Yaya (just in front of a de Jong as a sinlge holding player) to unlock defences and keep the ball and keep a high tempo when we're playing a team who are just sitting on the edge of their own box for 90minutes. I think we need to get rid of a few players like Bridge, Adebayor, Santa Cruz and replace them with stronger, maybe young and hungry, up and coming players to be on our bench and increase the overall quality of our squad. And I still think Tevez will be off if we get a good enough offer, but will that be in Jan or the summer? It will be very important to our season the decision made with this. and who will we replace him with?

Every team has games in hand and three have a better goal difference and when points are so tight like they are between the five teams going for four places that could be crucial (which is why we should have stuck the knife into Villa when we had the chance, we might not get many other chances to bag a hat full!).

But in normal circumstances we'd already be about 10points off the pace by now with the points we have. But this is an unusual season. No top team has gone on a big run of seven or eight wins in a row like usual. So obviously we're still in it. But as the season goes on I do honestly think we'll be just out of touch of United to realistically win it. They know exactly what needs to be done from the fans to the kit men to the players and especially the manager. Other than a few players our whole squad is new to this challenging for the title lark. I just can't see it this season.

But you never know!
