so i'll ask again........

Has anyone seen this article?

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/manchester-city/9033296/Should-police-look-in-to-Mario-Balotellis-stamp-on-Scott-Parker-during-Manchester-Citys-win-over-Tottenham.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/footba ... enham.html</a>

Disgraceful to try and get the police involved. I always knew the Telegraph was a Tory piece of shit, but this only intensifies the sentiment further that the media are trying to destablise the club.

And in this case defame it by trying to get a player prosecuted. The writer of the article knows he's out of order, hence why their is no accreditation of authorship on the article.

I see Karl Henry has got an article calling for him to be prosecuted, I wonder why....?

I doubt there is a deliberate agenda. However, football is now a business. The FA are basically businessmen funded by Sky. Sky is run by Rupert Murdoch who is only interested in making money. Sky will have done their research into their subscribers tastes and will mould that business to their best advantage. If 50% of your audience supports two teams then you will inevitably favour those teams. Thats business.
And it's an agenda however you look at it. The agenda involves ensuring that their customers' requirements are catered for adequately yet it's supposed to be a competitive sport. You jsut talk about favouring from an exposure point of view but surely they would arrange things so those 2 teams are never out of the spotlight and are invariably competing with each other.

I honestly think agenda is too strong a word but manipulation is not. Subtle manipulation is what I'd call it. If you keep telling everybody that certain teams are "special" then without doubt many people will buy it. For us, unfortunately, a different storyline is being played out!

There's nothing 'subtle' about it though

m italian. i live in italy. i'm not nationalist and i'm not proud of the way italy (and many intalians) behave.

i think berlusconi has just been the last one of a series of dirty cheatings politicians that unfortunally italian people just deverse.

football too in italy is dirty , full of scandals and cheating.

and the media are the worst you can hope to have in a country , their first reason of life being to lik powers arse.

that said i have to say i was thinking England was a sort of paradise compared to italy , but i was quite wrong. at least regard football.

when you see as they have charged a doubbious balotelli's case and done nothing of a blatant voluntary lescott elbowing you have to think something is really rotten in england too. I stopped envying.
Oh Please Mancio! If it is true both Balotelli and Lescott intentionally lashed out (and that is debatable) one can surely see why Lescott's is more acceptable. He was in the middle of a colission and protected himself forcefully. Or at least, that is what I saw. As for Balotelli, he simply acted like a brat trying to sneak in a boot while a helpless player was already down.

Now, I am not saying either was intentional, or even if they both were, I am not saying the intention was to hurt the opponent. But clearly, if both were intentional, Balo's is worse for attacking a guy who was already down. Lescott at least attacked someone charging at him. That to me is more acceptable.

On a personal note (and yes this is with no knowledge of what actually transpired), both looked intentional to me. But I am fine with Lescott's intentions and not with Balotelli's!

there are some things you seem to want ignore :

a) lescott case is blatant voluntary
b) balotelli case is not so blatant voluntary
c) when we appealed against balotelli or kompany case we was told by FA they don't want re-refereeing
d) lescott case was not seen by the referee , so may have been examinated without re-refereeing
e) balotelli case has been seen by the referee , there are tones of pics and images showing that webb was looking exactly there

i'm not interested in if and but , or wich is the worst offence , football is ruled by laws and FIFA laws exclude re-refereeing, so if FA do it then you can smell the rotten by a mile.

There is a worrying side to all this. What will the Sheik & his advisors make of recent events.
City at the end of the day are their brand just like Etihad . If that name gets tarnished even unjustly by a biased anti City media what damage does that do to the brand and do you keep it or ditch it?
One risk is they say Mancini is not managing the risk and dump im (and Balotelli) or they add the Cooke incident and all this and say is it worth it.?

Just voicing my worst fears..

You know

If there is an agenda or not an agenda, it certainley feels like the club are disliked by the media, which leads people to think there is an agenda, if seems we can't do anything right in their eyes, and it has been like this for a while.

But one does get the feeling that they are using the Mario incident to cover up their blushes for over hyping spuds all last week, I think they know that there is every likelihood with their run of games they are going to start slipping.

I await with baited breath what will be said if Saint Harry of the Brown Envelope does get found guilty! What's worse a minor incident on a football pitch or stealing money (because that is what he is accused of) of the people of this country!
saint Harry of the brown envelope ha ha classic
