So long Gareth Barry.

Question is how does the OP know that Barry can be described as "so long" ?how did he get the chance to measure it? and with what is he comparing it ?
;-)

Said on the way back up the road last night that De Jong looked less stifled with Barry not being in the team and it allowed our mad Dutchman to get more of a grip with the game

Regarding the semi final we will play 3 in the midfield it will be a case of Mancini going back to the normal sit back and hope to get a 1-0 win. I have no problem with it at all.

To the people who are saying its a shit tread or pathetic why dont you defend Barry tell us what he offers to the team now. He has been poor sub standard since he has been at the club. If it was any other player then there would be nothing to it no moaning. Have a different view on some of our English internationals seems like it is a big no on here.

No Leighton, you are the only one that sees the nationality of players as something to sway a decision.

You do it almost every post and that is probably the most hypocritical post I have seen on bluemoon.

He's a decent squad player. He does a job.

It was a great result yesterday but already people are getting a bit carried away again. It's one result and Sunderland were awful I mean really really bad. By far the worst team we have seen at eastlands this season one free head from a set piece is all they had they just grabbed ankles .

People need to calm down and stop getting giddy because we thrashed a team that has taken one point from 21 at home. It's a good confidence booster let's see how we do against Liverpool are more importantly in the semi.

I agree with you to a certain extent! I thought we were excellent and Sunderland and Villa are two of the worst sides I've seen at our place! I don't think it's anything to do with taking the shackles off! Because at Chelsea I thought the first 20 mins were excellent! Then Chelsea got hold off the game and we couldn't get that hold of the game back! But once our team has been together another 6months it want be 20 mins it'll be for 70 or 80 mins! Against the top sides!

Barry will play against Liverpool I think, but the team we saw yesterday will be the starting line up for the SF, after watching it again on MoTD2 bacon face will have some sleepless nights, if we go at the rags we will beat them.

Not read the thread but it does irritate me when it takes a manager, who is paid millions to do his job, far too long to take on board what the supporters have seen/said for months.

Bazza should be a back-up for NDJ or a sub for when shutting up shop.

Bye Bye Gareth..hopefully your days as a City regular starter are over!!!!!

Squad player at best. The pace of the game was a bit faster now without Barry. And im happy that we played more attacking.
totally agree

complete bollox.

They're all squad players and having the luxury of being able to rest a player of Barry's calibre is no accident.

I think that Barry is enough of a team player and at the point of his career where he would be comfortable as the third man in a rotation between himself, De Jong, and Yaya. That would be best for all parties really.

Bang on, except Barry has to accept being 'fourth man' in the rotation.

Milner is a shoe in on a rotate with Yaya.

There will be plenty of games in Champs League where Barry will get his chances.

He's not stupid, on the downward, but nowhere else getting £100k plus. Think he will become Vieira like presence for us in years ahead.
