gutted, luv Nige and if DDR doesnt come, there's not many can can protect the defence like Nige does. be sad to see him go

He has started 4 games in the prem all season and we have hardly struggled

i know but he is the 1 player that can give us a bit of protection when needed during certain games, i understand we are moving forward but as i say i luv him as a player, he battles and wears his heart on his sleeve

Re: So NDJ IS OFF

Reluctantly I agree with most of the above.

NDJ was very much part of the interim building stage of the team but I think his value to the team is no longer worthy of his place.

For me it is Barry v NDJ and Barry is more consistent, a better header of the ball and a better passer.

I would love to see a player like Xabi Alonso or similar being added in the summer to compliment this position. Jack Wilshire even.

Re: So NDJ IS OFF

Nige is one of the best defensive midfielders in the world on his day, but if he's turning down £100,000-a-week I guess the length of his future here is shortening by the second.

I think as a team we've moved on in terms of why we used Nige: we no longer have a three-man midfield with de Jong sat between it and the defence, and we rarely have someone within five yards of Nige for him to make a quick pass to because Toure is normally supporting the wide men further up the field, and Barry is supporting Clichy.

It really will be sad to see him go because I've really taken to him after his immense displays mid-way through last season and in the season under Hughes & Mancini. In fact, Nige was one of the few players that warmed to Mancini almost instantly (along with Kompany, Richards etc.) and kept his professional career in front of his own views.

Top bloke, top player, but it just wasn't meant to be. Thanks for the memories, Nige - hopefully you can give us a few more before you go. I'll never forget your laughing and cheering when Tevez scored that belter of a free-kick against Stoke. We all knew you were trying to get him to smile.

Re: So NDJ IS OFF

Why don't someone go ask him TODAY about the report in the paper?

Re: So NDJ IS OFF

Anybody thought that just maybe, he may have already agreed a new contract with City BUT we are delaying signing it due to it not appearing in the books for the first year of the FFPR accounts. The club and the player will have been told not to discuss it because it is, although not strictly fiddling the books, definitely skirting the edge of the FFPR rules by agreeing a contract up front but not signing one. it would go some way to understanding why NDJ is saying he is unconcerned about his new contract............

Conspiracy theorists of the world unite!!!!
