So there's an Irish and a Scottish girl in Peru.......

Reading between the lines(ho ho),as the UK and Spain seem to be the gateway into europe from Peru for the marching powder, i wonder if some kind of visa to travel to Peru from the EU would help stop people getting into this kind of trouble.

Everyone avoiding the point of how many pints it would take them to throw a sausage up the gaping chasms people call the verjayjay????

None and none they're even hotter now they're criminals really. Standards are gay.

It's a joke they even got arrested for this , I'm sure if Peru really cared they'd stop people from producing it. 10000% a set up.
Just 10000%?

They clearly were never going to make any money as escorts so to a chance on a quick buck. They got caught. On the plus side £1.10 a day for the next 20 years and they will have their 8 grand payoff!

Have you seen the size of Peru ? It is 500,000 square miles of jungle, mountains and rivers. Do you know anything about the country ? It so hard to patrol such a vast area and thereby destroy the crops.
Peru has just won a battle with Shining Path Guerrillas, the SP ran Cocaine production as a way of raising money for guns. The 'war' lasted 25+ years because the jungle is so dense.
What about peasant farmers who have to grow coca to get any kind of decent living ? How you do you stop them ?
Maybe if we stopped shoving it up our noses Peru wouldn't need to stop production.

So they were forced at gunpoint to become drug mules !

They had to fly out of the airport at Ibiza to Madrid and never had the chance to raise the alarm when in the airport ?
At Madrid the same thing and again when they landed.
When you are sat airside the only people with guns are the police so why not walk up to a stewardess and ask for help ?

Just askin'

In the unlikely event their stories are true I'm pretty sure the dealers would have had that part covered, maybe threatening the life of family members..

So why offer them money??

Of course their guilty they are just making up a cock and bull story in the hope the Peruvians will swallow it, they won't they have heard it all before

They will get 2 years if they confess or 8 years if they stick with the bullshit

A father-of-two jailed for nine years in Peru for drug smuggling has spoken of his regret from behind bars.

Dexter Elliott was sentenced alongside friend Kevin Fowler for attempting to smuggle cocaine out of the south American country.

Elliott, speaking from his Peruvian jail cell, told of his remorse after he and Fowler, both from Middleton, Rochdale, were sentenced to nine years in prison.

He said: “Of course I’m regretting this because I have two little girls back home.

“I’m coping fine and we are both doing fine.” Elliott, of Barleyfield Walk, and Fowler, of Hawkshead Drive, Langley, were arrested on suspicion of attempting to smuggle cocaine from Peru to Spain as part of a drugs bust in October.

They were both caught with cocaine in their suitcases and were arrested alongside an Israeli and two Bulgarians at the Jorge Chavez International Airport in the capital city Lima.

Elliott and Fowler had attempted to smuggle about £250,000 of cocaine to Spain, according to reports.

Elliott had two kilos hidden in his suitcase and Fowler was found to have 3.8 kilos hidden in clothing in his suitcase.

The pair, who both spent their 25th birthdays in prison, were arrested as part of a wider operation conducted by West Yorkshire Police.

In 2008, Elliott was given a two-year anti-social behaviour order after terrorising the Barleyfield estate.

His misdemeanours included threatening and violent behaviour, harassment, intimidation, rowdy behaviour, verbal abuse, spraying graffiti and congregating in a large group.

Fowler is also thought to be known to local police.

A spokesman for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office said they are in touch with Elliott and Fowler’s families and providing consular assistance.

It is thought Elliott and Fowler are being held in the Sarita Colonia men’s prison in the poor area of Callao in Lima, considered one of the world’s toughest jails.

Most non-Peruvians imprisoned for drug smuggling in Peru are held there.

The jail was built to house 500 inmates but 2,500 men are incarcerated there.

Does anyone else remember the other two girls who did similar about 15 years back? It was all over the news at the time but I can't remember which country they were arrested in.

Whatever happened to that landlord with weird hair you all had down as a murderer that time?

Come on quinny, you can do better than that

Everyone is so keen for them to be guilty and serve hard time. People are revelling in the negativity and misery.

I'm a light bringer, this is wrong.

Stuart Hall had more supporters on here than these two girls. Two young girls who none of us know anything about but we're all sweating, hoping, desperate for them to be guilty so we can revel in their families misery as brought to us by This Morning and the tabloids.

Would you honestly have this view if the two were black or Asian Mr light bringer?.
