I have sympathy. Nobody should be in jail for drug taking, supplying or smuggling offences. All drugs should be legalised and taxed.

I don't want to side track the thread but as soon as you tax something you open up a market for smugglers, the obvious example is tobacco. The better way is to do what they trialled in Liverpool, walk in clinics where heroin was given to addicts to take with clean needles. There were conditions, you had to use on the premises etc. but it worked. It stopped addicts going to dealers and also reduced crime. I do not know why it was stopped I can only assume it was lack of funding and therefore political.
Whilst you have so much money in the supply of drugs you will always have silly girls like this.

Could we put a sports book and have DJs at the party drugs and cocaine clinic? I would sign up/do fundraisers to help it, whatever it takes.

I feel sorry for them - they were young and daft, and we've all been there, but thankfully our mistakes didn't mean a life ruined in a foreign prison.
I trust all of those who do condemn them out of hand have never had a cheeky line of Charlie in their lives, because if they have then they are utter hypocrites, given that what they were snorting was probably brought in by some sorry drug mule just like these two.

They deserve sympathy but it's the bullshit excuse, do they really think people are that stupid to believe their story?

I have made mistakes and I am partial to a line but that's by the by, I don't condemn them but I question their intelligence and motives. I have made mistakes and my hands go up, they are clearly lying and knew what they were doing, that's the problem. Peru should not be made a bad guy in this, the drug dealers and these girls are at fault and I hope Peru isn't persecuted for their actions.

Personally I believe Coke, Weed, Steroids, Mushrooms, Whizz and E's should be made legal. Crack and Smack semi legal and available via clinics who monitor patients. I'd also change the law so theft is 3 years standard and burglaries 5 years. That would make things much harder for career criminal drug addicts and our country needs to come down hard on crime imo. Drugs should be embraced by the government because people use them even though there's prohibition, we'd save money for other uses by legalising and drug empires would tumble. Anybody who disagrees should look at Portugal's model.

I get your reasoning regard to coke and crack, but it is practically flawed because it is very easy to turn coke into crack.
