Rooney's made captain for 7th place finishers last term, it's the main sports news on every
UK based internet site.

Aguero signs 5 year extension for the champions, not even the 5th headline.

LOL.

Rooney is made captain of one of the world's biggest sports franchises. He's also English, and that makes it even bigger news given the vacancy in the England national team. Whether we like it or not, the Rooney story is bigger news.

And its likely that Rooney will actually captain United. These days the odds of a player completing his contract are much shorter

I know it just makes you laugh when you think about the technicalities.

@de niro

I can't remember if I've asked you this before, but I've certainly thought it. Let's suppose for one moment that we all accept that there is the full blown anti-City conspiracy going on, in a coordinated agenda sort of way.

That being the case, what would you propose we actually DO about it? Or is your motivation just to have a good moan about how unfair it is and win arguments with agenda-denying blues?

well we are fighting back with transfer blags like the lampard deal and the bonus laden wages for top players. what i would like most though is for our board to commission a dossier of fact. the show the world of its findings. its would never reach publication though imo, uefa would privately own up and the relentless attacks on our club would cease.

everybody is jealous and scared of us.there is a clear ganging up on us and it's there for all to see.

It's all simple really, the majority of football fans in this country are "supporters" of Utd, Liverpool & Arsenal - in that order.
Whilst they hate each other they all hate us, & we have a significantly smaller fan base than all three.
The media knows this & decide to run negative stories on us to keep the majority happy & picking up the papers,
that's why you've seen more on the Rags getting LVG than you saw us getting Pellegrini last year.

Add to this that because of the laws of probability; there's going to be a very large percentage of journos who "support"
Utd, Liverpool & Arsenal who personally hate City.

The way to get around it? Win, & win some more, build up a fan base to rival those three & we'll soon become incredibly
popular in the media. The problem is, building a fan base like those three parasitical leeches have, will take a long time.

Unfortunately this sort of post is manna from heaven for the anti-agendaists. The rags will always be bigger news than us in general terms, because they have had almost 50 years worth of unfettered access to global markets (largely born out of post-Munich sympathy), and acquired a fan base - if you can call them that - that dwarfs all other English teams, except Liverpool, whose 40 years worth of access stemmed from 2 decades of continuous success. When I lived in Hong Kong briefly some 25 years ago, they were virtually the only teams ever shown on TV. It is therefore neither unreasonable nor surprising that they should be Sky's, or the online newspapers', lead item more often than not. You need to get over that, because it's not the issue. More clicks, more sales, more profit.
The issue, is the continuous portrayal, or overall portrayal (because there are quite a few positive stories out there on City as well) of City in a negative light, or in a way designed to reinforce the image of us as tasteless, more money than sense, chavs, eating our saumon en papillote with tomato ketchup. Transfer fees inflated to include wages, players wanting to leave, players on 500k a week, Tevez costing 50m rather than 28m, the graveyard for English youth, graphics depicting relative squad costs whenever we play anyone from the poor side of town, the suggestion of dodgy deals, and so on and so on. Bias, laziness or agenda (in some capacity) - and personally I'd call it at about 50:30:20 on a completely unscientific and arbitrary basis - call it what you will, that's where the focus should be, not on daft stuff like Four Four Two magazine having more pictures per annum of Van Persie than David Silva

"Why I'm falling out of love with football" screams the headline from an article by Des Lynam in the Daily Telegraph.

Now what photo would one expect to accompany this article, perhaps football violence, expensive tickets, too much TV or a highly paid prima donna wiping his arse with a £50 note?

No not at all, you guessed it, a photo of Kun Aguero celebrating winning the league.

Wow.

Is this a Clarkie?

All right there lads and lasses.

I have read through much of the discussion and come to the following conclusions:

1- MCFC won the lottery of oily arab money, then gatecrashed the cozy Pratini cartel party.
2- An agenda was put in place to deter similar attempts by other clubs and kick the blue gatecrashers outta said parteh.
3- The media is owned by people with both political and financial interests other than City's.
4- An agenda is in place to continually produce biased media outlets against City.

As you were.

..... "and here endeth the lesson" ;)

Not seen a single billboard showing the champions in a lead up to the new season. Its all Liverpool, Arsenal, Rags and Chelsea. I even saw one with Peter Crouch on it!
Youd have thought greater manchester might contain a few!

Ive got to the point where although I feel the club are insulted considerably it doesnt and will not ever diminish my memories and experiences.

So fuck em.

Now, why did the Telegraph have to add a picture of MCFC winning the Premier League for this article? All part of the DT journalistic team agenda I think.
Do City have anything to do with the disembowelling of Southampton by Liverpool, Man Utd and Arsenal?
Do City have anything to do with Bladder or Plattini?
No just someone spending money to make one of England.s bigger teams competitive with the so called 'Giants'.
The big boys have now made it impossible for Villa, Sunderland and Newcastle to compete. I highly doubt Everton or Spurs can compete either...
Wrong target chaps...
