For me the clearest indication that there's a planned agenda was the recent articles on City signing up it's best players on long term contracts. Originally this was reported as it happened as each player got signed up, then in Pellers pre-match interview a couple of the hacks pressed him on whether Yaya would be getting a new contract. Pellers swerved the question and straight after the reports in mirror, telegraph, independent, mail and sun on this topic were that Yaya would not to be offered a new contract.

It was a planned and deliberate attempt by a number of papers to destabilise the player by misrepresenting the club and a number of the journo's had got together to do it.....Clear Agenda and collusion by the press and the evidence is on the city site and the papers online sites for all to see.

do you really think they got together before hand and said lets ask pellegrini about yaya and his contract and if he doesn't specifically say hes getting a new one we will print he isn't getting one

you don't know what is said behind closed doors at the club, for all we know they might be laughing their socks off at it all

and if it is an effort to destabilise players and club it clearly isn't working

bias clearly evident but planned agendas just not sure
Do I think members of the Manchester press pack (who are all mates and drink together) could have decided on the agenda for their stories beforehand between them? Of course, yes.

Seems strange that they'd only want to provide their editor with the same story as everyone else.

It makes their collective lie more plausible.

Martin Tyler's disdain for us is getting more and more apparent. He doesn't even raise his voice when we get chances and sounds gutted when we score. He seemed to carry on from his Everton performance last year, utter shite

All the evidence you'd ever need.......

Never changes his tune Tyler .
Him and Alan Smith were well boring today .
I get the feeling these two would be more excited watching a rerun of crossroads than us .

Are editors bothered about lies being plausible?

It doesn't seem a great way to get on in the newspaper world. "My story is exactly the same as everyone else's"

So bored of this thread....shut it down, it's dull and pointless. It only seeks to make blues feel small and have a chip in their shoulder and for no reason. Who cares if there is an agenda? We'll never have the following of someone like the rags, not even if we win the next 10 titles...so don't sweat it people. We are city! Enjoy!

Tyler was his usual self:

Newcastle were caught out for our goal, rather than "SILVAAA....BRILLIANT GOAL BY MANCHESTER CITY, THE CHAMPIONS TAKE A DESERVED LEAD AT ST. JAMES PARK!"

I mean, I'm sorry, but for ages now our great play has been swept over an awful lot, whereas then the Dippers or Rags get constant wanking over their "great" play, it's to the point where I almost want Southampton fans to be annoyed tonight because Silva's goal should be fawned over, and them be annoyed that Clyne gets ignored (though of course, both should be fawned over by the press, yet both will be ignored), as that's what would happen if it were any other top club creating that goal today.

If that had been Sterling to Sturridge it would have been on, and on, and on, and on over and over again, just in the post-match programme, and Tyler would just about be landing on the Angel of the North by now.

Thought the whole SKY team were a bit of a shambles today. All about how plucky and unlucky Newcastle were and how they deserved something boa boa bla. They didn't have a shot on target, we controlled the game from start to finish and had we not wasted good opportunities time after time we could have scored ten. Was a great performance from the current and 2014/15 champions today.

Nice to see the Champions get top billing..

He sounded depressed when Sergio scored the second.

To say the commentary box was a little 'flat' at the end was an understatement.

Look @ it like this fellow Blues, It is getting embarrassing just listening/watching the tossers (media connection) trying to play down OUR success! THEY are the clowns squirming to come up with statements to play us down! They are all pathetic every 1 of them. ENJOY Bluemooners :-)

You could always not click on it rather than trying to censor people.

If anyone can find a link to Sky's highlights of the 3-0 at OT last season it's probably Tyler's worst imo

Couldn't care less when Edin scores, nearly blows his load when Fellaini scuffs a shot straight at Joe...

Nearly right iirc. It was a Fellani shot over the bar iirc, but the tone in his voice was, as you say, discernibly different.

Anton Diffring in 'Escape to Victory' springs to mind.

He got excited when Palace came back from 0-3 down against Liverpool last season. "Liverpool have CAVED IN!" and he gasped when Palace gave the ball away on an attack to make it 4-3 near the death.
