So what do we need in the summer....

Whoever we buy, just buy better or the best, not cover players! Buying cover players won’t improve anything, it’s just wasted time and money that keeps the team going sideways or making it even worse.
 
A few priorities but top is probably a plan or replacement for Bernado - they probably need to be 90% of the position already, not sure we can cope with someone that may take a few seasons to develop or bed in
 
A new fitness coach and a proper pre-season. Far too many second-half collapses this season for coincidence, leading to squandered leads, and it’s also concerning to see first-team players going down with cramp from the 80th minute.

If we hadn’t drawn so many abject shambolic games, and actually turned up at places like the swamp rather than play like a bunch of girls, we wouldn’t be having this conversation

Despite my reference to managers above, Elliot Anderson would do for me, and I don’t believe a mass clear out makes any sense whatsoever with (potentially?) a new manager arriving, nor does bringing several new faces in

With Gvardiol coming back in, we will still have enough talent defensively irrespective of JS moving on

We’re never going to attract a top class striker from another club, so forget that one

Our biggest obstacle may well be attracting new signings given the imminent disappearance of Pep?

We’ve also got Grealish and KP to think about in the larger scheme of things?

Anderson reported to prefer a move to the rags now since Fernandes bullied him in his earhole last weekend, so that might not happen ...... Gibbs White looks a decent enough player, scored against both City and United.

But in any case, the players we have been linked with might not be the ones that Maresca would want .... if it's him, and not Pep who's here next season.

Full backs and a bit of pace and muscle in the midfield and I think we’re good.

I expect a bit of a clear out this summer and maybe 3/4 key new signings.

tbf the clear out is out of our hands really. We have several players leaving because they are at the end of their contract and several others going into their last year and we won't want to extend them e.g. Ake and Kovacic and id be very surprised if they dont find a new club because they wont want to be playing into their last 12mths with no guarantees at their ages.

Yep, totally agree ..... if you don't buy better than what you've currently got, i don't see it as strengthening or improving the squad .

Yep, McAidoo is worth working with in a first team training enviroment, he's looking good, and he will only improve ... I'm not seeing any real improvement in Savinho, as of yet, that would suggest he's gonna be the answer to one or two of our problems.
