So, what DO you believe?

Whilst working a train last week i got talking to a blue who's 2 year old son was weaing the old purple city kit. We both agreed how lucky his son will be as he'll grow up seeing City dominating europe as well as England. Both myself and his dad have seen so many dissapointments but i'm positive that typical city is dying to be replaced by Impossible city doing stuff we never thought imaginable 10 years ago.

We did this impossible stuff 40 years ago. Not unseen at MCFC. Been a drought since. But no club can get any player it wants. They only get the players who want to come.

Its interesting how different the beliefs of City fans are.

Some like me are perhaps more positive than makes sense?

Others are far too negative for the place City find themselves in now.

I also believe that by sticking with Hughes, giving him control of the transfer targets and making him the driving force for squad development put lots of doubt in lots of minds.

Perhaps, in hindsight the people who made that decision now regret it as a lost season? I know I feel like that.

Imagine where we might be now if they had changed the manager, and in doing so the profile of the club and players we would have captured last season.

Great thread and OP fbloke.

Sums up perfectly the way i feel about our great club and its future.

Our owners obviously believe, the players coming on board now believe and now its our turn to believe and back everyone at the club.

Nothing is impossible!

I've been saying since I was 10 years old that our time will definitley come and we'll win the league (which to me at that age was the main ambition, rather than Europe/ cups). I'm 26 now and at times it has felt like it might be a long time off but I have still believed in future success. Unfortunately I went to a school with a load of scum fans but not for one moment did I regret being a blue because I knew that the handful of blues were real football fans and not following the crowd.

The last couple of years have been unbelieveable and winning a cup or the league is definitely getting closer. Without doubt there will be ups and downs, but those disappointments will make the eventual success even sweeter. Whether it comes this season or whenever, I will still be backing City. But at this point in time I am still positive that we will dominate the prem at some point... hopefully sooner rather than later!

I believe that the current regime is here to stay and i also believe that some form of success is imminent.
I only hope we do it the right way in that we do not as a club forget our roots and we continue and improve the academy. Do things the Mercer way, he was a gent lets not get wrapped up in a quest for glory so that we become arrogant, expectant and loathing of other clubs and fans. Humilty in victory is as important as humilty in defeat.
We will initially be ridiculed, castigated and condemed due to the money we have HAD to spend to try and compete on equal terms.
I also belive the whole of our wonerful city will benefit from the proposed investment.
The future's so bright i gotta wear shades.

bloody believers. i for one can not imagine the day the trannys of this world tell real madrid i am off, coz i want to play for city. but wont stop me supporting.

I believe. I think we have had a gift from the East that was beyond our wildest dreams. It is where we go with it next that matters.

Many worry about the Soul of the Club and our traditions but The Heart of this Club will never be ripped out - because it's me and you; - the fans.

Others worry about attacks from Fifa and Plattini and Sky and the Media. Our owners will be too clever for them.

If I had a worry it would be what is the measure of success. An example. After Chelsea got beaten in the Champions League we all saw the pictures of Roman lambasting their players at the defeat. Now contrast this with my Love for Danny Mills and Ben Thatcher and Stewart Pearce who got the Tactics right and stopped a poor City side from yet another Relegation. These people so many of you despise stopped this City Fan from getting his Heart broken.

Success needs to be measured. I burst into tears when Rooney scored in Injury time, he stole my dream of a Trophy for another Year. When Crouch scored he increased it as we have a great chance in the Europa League this Season.

Patience from us and the owners is needed and it is the one thing we can learn from our Neighbours. Whenever they had a Trophy - less season and they have had them since 1992 they just got on with it.

If everybody can " BELIEVE" this I really fail that Failure both short and long term just becomes impossible. I want this Season to be the start of that and I want my dreams to come true.

Thats a post I can like ;-)

Its not about world domination in one giant leap.

Its about world domination in a number of smaller adn more measured steps.

If the 10 year plan is broken down to annual targets then we surely havent missed one yet, just into full year 2?
