So who do we want in the semi?

A lot will depend on the Christmas results, and who we draw in the FA Cup (was it 2012 when we played United in the FA Cup, three days before Liverpool in the LC Semi?)
We could easily fall between stools, but we'd be favourites if Kompany, Silva and Aguero were all in the starting line-up.
Everton will face the same problems, especially with their squad being smaller.
Great chance to win this competition but won't be easy. Also very concerned that fixture congestion in January may hinder progress towards the main goals for this season.
A final against the scousers is a tasty prospect but Stoke may have other ideas.

Hope we play the first leg on the 5th. 6th is a "significant anniversary", no chance of even watching it on telly

Just reading some of the shite written on this thread;
Liverpool will apparently win the League Cup so
a) don't try against Everton as we will be thrashed by Liverpool in the final.
b) Try against Everton but don't try against Liverpool in the final concentrate on the League.

why not add, Liverpool will win the league as well so concentrate on getting 4th. FFS small minded defeatist supporters do this club no favours whatsoever.

Everton will be a hard couple of matches but we have been in these semi finals in all cups 5 times in the last 5 seasons so have the experience to go through over two legs. It does depend on who we have available to an extent but hopefully they will all be fit by then.

If we do get through, I fancy us in a one off game against the red dippers more than over two legs. Surely even Pellegrini has learnt his lesson after that shite the other week.

To win cups you generally have to beat good sides. We have been quite fortunate so far with our final opposition although it took beating good teams to achieve that.

Remember Richard's 'handball' at anfield in the League cup semi a few years back too...
Yes..some teams got Devine right it seems.I really want city to get to the final and face dippers.Got to take care of unfinished business.I know the drunk face manager is trying hard to get inside the skin but I hope he doesn't get too carried away.

One thing we can be sure of is that Liverpool already think they've won the cup, just like they already knew they'd win the league. If nothing else, this will make the other teams they play be well up for it to prove them wrong.

First thing I got at work was "we wanted City in the Semi's so we could beat Everton in the Final", they really are a cocksure arrogant bunch of twats.

amazing how everton's supposed support gets blown out all proportion, the fact is over the last few years at home in this competition, they have barely mustered 20000 for many of their games, and was 3000 under capacity when they faced Chelsea in a semi final, which was less than our appalling turn out v hull the other night. Not denying everton will bring loads, but the truth is over the last few years their crowds at home in this competition have been crap, and yet they are being lauded as some super fans when the truth is their gates in this competition have been 1000's less than ours.

Even Klopp took the piss saying the balls came out in order, 1,2,3,4 pmsl.

Perfect draw for the sponsors and tv in that they get a possible all Merseyside derby in the final or us against the new and improved mighty reds.

Sorry tv but it will be us and we will piss on the parade come Wembley as well.
