Sochi 2014

One of the Swedish hockey players has failed a drugs test, apparently. Nicklas Bäckström - he didn't play in the final, he was informed 2 hours before it started. They're saying on the telly it's allergy medicine he's been taking for seven years.

They mentioned on the CBC feed near the end of the game that he was out because he had been taking Claritin wich is for allergies.

The Canada v. Sweden game was good, not as dramatic as the women's final though.

Amazing that he can take it and play in the NHL for the past five or so years really. Just to clarify, I think it's a joke that he wasn't able to play because he takes claritin.

I know. I don't really see how it would improve his play other than making it so he doesn't have to blow his nose every 10 seconds. (I take it in the spring for my allergies.)
