Can't believe how much we struggle as a country to compete in the winter olympics.

I know we don't have great facilities and the funding probably isn't brilliant but still, it's odd to go from 3rd in the medal table in the summer games to being excited with a couple of top 5 finishes!

The funding is a joke. Many of them have to fund themselves and obviously that's going to be expensive as they need to go to places with snow to train plus all the equipment etc. I think it's a shame we don't take the winter olympics more seriously as I prefer them to people running round a track any day. Really does need to be more facilities built like indoor ski slopes etc. but that won't happen. It's amazing we even medal at all considering.
