Solo male gig attendees at girl band gig interrogated (Lincoln)

I’m genuinely trying to understand because I feel a bit slow… I thought wokeness was basically the polar opposite of this. As in, bending over backwards to accommodate and promote diversity. Or letting people get away with things for fear of offending them based on some protected characteristic. People have been arguing that letting men into women’s spaces is woke behaviour for literally years now, in fact I thought that was a major argument of the “woke bad” crowd.

Is this not what the anti-woke people wanted? Overzealous surveillance and profiling of people based on protected characteristics?

I thought I understood it but apparently I don’t.
You are not alone in not understanding. If people make rules up as they go along, it is impossible to discern any principle.

The band deny ordering this.

Seems to be down to whoever is in charge of the security. Some mutterings about some "incidents" at a previous gig involving the band, but no details.

Clearly a case of profiling and discriminating against one section of the paying customers.

The band’s management seem to have done the right thing by alerting the event security to incidents at previous gigs (I would imagine this is routine), and then someone at the venue has gone way too far.

Ultimately it was a few blokes who got searched and questioned, they shouldn’t have been but the fact this has blown up into a big news story and one guy is talking to every newspaper that’ll contact him feels more like an example of the world going to shit than some security people going to far.

And the consequence is knobheads like Andrew Tate polluting the www with their shit
That's what happens when men are told masculinity is bad and they should be ashamed of themselves all the time, demoralised young men end up being drawn to people who tell them that there's nothing wrong with being a man and being masculine.
