Exactly.

Well said.

I've lost the will to live with some posts on here.

People are too impatient these days.
Bad pitch, bad ref...sorry I forgot that, yes the pitch was so bad our players simply couldn't pass to each other! Bad ref? Not really, picky but what has the ref got to do with our style of play over the last few weeks? What next? The fans were shining lazer pens into the faces of the players????
Don't lose the will to live mate, it will get better, when mancini wakes up from his Italian slumber and realises this style of play is getting us nowhere fast and we need width and penatration....it's that simple

...funny, this is just what the missus was saying to me last night.....

do you really believe that? i'm serious, do you really think he went out with the attitude of fuck em tonight i'm not bothering.
I believe as human beings when we are performing different tasks on different days, with different things happening in our lives our mood is dependent upon this. Players are not robots and are succeptible to differing states of mind as are we all. It is not inconcievable for a player to go out intending to play well, then during the course of a game to weaken in determination and fight. [weather consciously or unconsciously]. I do believe all season tevez has had an attitude problem, despite his goals....I agree without his goals we would struggle to stay out of the bottom 3 but there is def a problem with him.
I would like to see the team without him, I imagine the players may play with more freedom and not always feel the need to pass to him.JMO

that's a lot of words not to answer my question, which indirectly answers it
thanks.
and to say we would be in the bottom 3 without him is bordering on insanity
it really is.

I've got a bit of a downer on the team at the moment, but to suggest we would be bottom 3 without Tevez is beyond insanity.

He didn't go for a draw he went for a win. Hence the strong team and the introduction of balotelli. But we powder puffed around as is becoming the norm.

We are not purposeful or pacy enough going forward. That game should have been a walk in the park
pace without AJ and Balotelli is an issue, but hopefully they are not too far away now.

I think tempo is more of an issue than pace. Our passing game sometimes is just too slow, we allow poorer teams to get men behind the ball, dont ask enough questions.

Our fundamental problem is that we lack a creative spark in midfield. Silva is very creative around the edges of the penalty area but we also need someone to pull the strings from deeper positions. Our midfeld triangle of De Jong, Yaya & Barry just isn't sufficiently creative or incisive.

Absolutely nothing is wrong ;)

You're quite correct, zippier passing is the order of the day!

I think Bobby needs to play Dzeko, Silva and Tevez together as much as possible from hence on. The Aris formation has only had two run-outs (I think?), and they need time to get used to each others' movement.

I have real faith in the approach, especially with Kolarov and Richards starting to provide proper width.

Is it just me or does our players off the ball movement seem near non existent at times. I also think we don't pressure enough as soon as we lose the ball.

Both of these in my opinion.

The only player who moves into space, passes the ball quickly, moves into space, receives the ball, passes the ball quickly, moves into space...is Silva. And what Silva doesn't have is a foil in midfield. Look at some midfield partnerships: Fabregas/Nasri, Modric/VDV, Scholes/...(which, although at the top, is why they have looked mediocre), Lampard/Ballack (again, they now look weak in midfield), Alonso/Gerrard. We don't really have anyone who compliments Silva to a degree where our overall tempo is improved.

I honestly think that Mancini relented on buying an attacking midfielder in the last window because (and here's hoping) with Champions League football next season he'll be able to pick one from the top of the table.
