They pummeled us at the end. It should've been a walk in the park for us, we didn't close them out.
yes, we fucked up, but they didn't pummel us, they had a few balls into the box and one blocked shot in the dying seconds. we had better chances to score.

So why did i have no fingernails left?

Exactly mate! I know the record says City 4-wolves 3, but it's the performance that should reflect the true story. After the whistle, bobby and the boys were championed, if it would've been 4-4, the roof would have fallen in. The fucked up thing about all of this, is the fear if we don't get 4th, bobby's p45 will be in the post, and it will all start again..................................

Which is not good for the team, the fans, the club or our future.

most of the time a team has got back in to a game verses us the ref has gifted them something but the way we cope with that renewed challenge worries me.

We've had a serious influx of new players added to a new manager / new system and yet so many on 'Blue Moan' seem to expect us to play together as if they'd been together for years . . that's a ridiculously high level of expectation and if you have that in your heart then you're in for serious disappointment I'm afraid!

I can understand that on an emotional level but I had a good think about it at the start of the season and, by looking at how other teams performed through a re-build historically (rags demoted during bacon faces 1st re-build etc), I reasoned that a 4th place finish would be a great achievement and that I'd be happy if that happened.
We're on course for that so I'm keeping the vitriol locked away and I'd be chuffed to see others being as pragmatic.

Also, re thoughts of yet more major signings - don't get carried away because further spending could have the adverse affect of excluding us from europe under the financial fair play rules . . hence why both chelski splashed out stupid money on dead legs torres . . sooner done less pressure under the finance rules (otherwise they'd have simply bought in a striker who was on form to give them a boost in the last part of the season.

I think that we now have just about all we're going to get - apart from buys off the back of player sales. Also think that we'll be fantastic next season - we've all seen little glimpses of class shining through and that'll be how we play all the time once RM has had time enough to work with the squad.

We're lacking first and foremost somebody in the middle of the park who will grab the game by the scruff of the neck and say, "come on boys, how much do we earn a week? Let's show we're worth it or I'll just do it alone." I'm gutted we didn't get Gerrard in the summer as I think he and another centre half would have won us the title at a canter. The amount of times there's been a risky pass or a chance to shoot and instead of having the bollocks to go through with it we've had to go backwards is mind-blowing and I include every single player in that, I find myself pulling my hair out.

We also lack pace and we're missing Adam Johnson greatly. Hope Bobby sees what's wrong quickly and gets it sorted out, I'm a huge fan of his and want nothing more than to see him succeed. If he doesn't see(or ignores) the fundamental flaws in the side due to his own arrogance then my opinion will no doubt change.

it was lescott's gift at 4-1, then a header from corner. i remember the game well. they didn't have another chance until the last kick of the game.

Can't argue with that mate.

are you looking for something that's not there
the only one post boxing day i can really think of is the second half at brum where we were really off the gas, and we nearly nicked that one
ok second half v west brom but the game was over by then.
the cup ties were generally blood and thunder affairs as you would expect
villa maybe but not confidence as we knocked on the door without success.
the rest i have no issues with without being really nitpicky

What about very, very lucky to get a 4-3 win after being 4-1 up at home v wolves?
Home to Blackpool wasn't total domination either.
I agree with bill, there is something that i just can't put my finger on.........

none of those two were down to lack of zest or confidence
we started slow against wolves but i'm giving a bit of credit to them
you may not see it that way

I agree with this however these aren't the only 2 games.

Arsenal away, we got battered this game and showed no ambition to try and break down a weak arsenal defence.

Leicester away well we know what happened there, Notts County too. Both these games should of been won in the first game however due to lack of ambition, desire, passion, fight whatever you want to call it we failed (albeit Notts County still to play)

Villa away, I thought we controlled this game but i don't remember Friedal having the game of his life we had a few deflected shots that on another day could of gone in but we should be beating teams like this.

Birmingham away, yes I know they beat Chelsea and drew with the scum but again like both Chelsea and the scum we should of beaten them comfortably if we've genuine aspirations.

The scum game we controlled but didn't create anywhere near enough to go on and win it. A draw at best

Then last night, was very average against poor opposition.

For the further investment we made in the summer and then again in January our 'progress' should be more substantial rather than nigh on similiar to this time last year.

Call it winning mentality or too much too soon, however you dress it up if another team would of had the same kind of investment then you'd expect them to playing with more confidence and challenging the top of the league.

Another point about our squad. Would Milner, Barry, Jo, Viera get into our rivals squads?? our rivals being imo Scum, Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs.

I don't think so!!
