Something to cheer you all up, Buck house facelift

I thought your point was (incorrectly) suggesting that taxpayers are funding the reneovations and not spending the money on the NHS?

Just admit it, you're a treasonous little republican peasant and the stocks are far too good for the likes of you.

I think that you will find I've been on a bit of a wind up. I understand exactly where the money is coming from the royal family's inheritance. But what rankles with me having a moral compass (you might find one some day). Is that that 1 million people are having to use foodbank and that people in this country will have to chose between heat or eat this christmas. I don't accept the view like that pathetic excuse for a human being Esther Mcvey thinks that foodbanks are now an acceptable part of welfare because its fucking not!!! We are the 7th richest country in the world and the smell of hypcricy when we are removing dictators who are leaving in the lap of luxory whilst those underneath are scratching around and we are in no way different.

I'm not blaming the royal family its not there fault how the system works. But the timing of all this is what bothers me and that what will leave many people scratching there heads. I know that the queen is politically neutral but if it was me I would be telling the government to get there house in order and end poverty f*ck the house it can wait.

That's my rant I'm not a peasant and in the main don't have a problem with the royal family but think that its about time that we had serious cull to the hangers on.

Simple, cull the lot, the resurrection of Robespierre !

Funniest thing I've read on here for months! I'm a hypocrite for keeping a British passport? Well until the UK citizens are offered the choice of holding a Queens passport or a republican one I have no choice. Choice eh? A great thing to be offered. Is the UK a democracy or dictatorship?
My passport was issued before I left, so again, I no longer fund that family. I have 5 years left on my passport, will let you know in 5 years if I renew it or have applied for a Yank passport.
You're getting deported before then I reckon.

The support for the Monarchy over the last 60 years or so is based solely on people's respect for the current monarch.
Once she's gone the existence of this archaic class based institution will again be open to question and at risk.
The institution has been good at re- inventing itself to make it appear relevant but there will be many crises ahead which will cause people to question it's relevance.
Just one crisis could prove fatal, and once it's gone it's gone.

So how many jobs would 350m quid create in building social housing across the country or hospitals or homeless shelters? Rather than on repairing one large house in London?
Much as I agree with the sentiment I find it hard to get worked up by 38m a year x10. This figure is not going to fix much else. I am a republican at heart but think (like fox hunting) the issue is a distant second to the real issues of the day. Nothing will change in this regard. The sheep who buy into this guff are in the vast majority and will always 'follow my leader'. The big stuff and power to make spending decisions and priorities is what is important not the little details like this that distract the opposition and leads them to pissing into the wind. Blair (yes him) understood this. The left need to take a good hard look at themselves if they think this an important issue.

Couldn't give a fuck about this story to be honest, but I suppose it gives the majority of the British public to be angry about something. 40% of them will probably blame it on immigrants as well.
