The lad has still got a great engine and he would be more of an attacking midfielder, but its pointless carrying on with this thread seeing he`s just this moment signed a contract extension, which will obviously be of great joy to you. ;)It’s midfield and defence where we’re depleted. I cannot see any positives to signing a 32 year old forward who peaked years ago.

Should have signed him years ago when we were chasing kane, he would have been a better fit for us around then.
I was fully aboard the Kane train but even then I said the spurs player we should really be after was Son. Amazing footballer in his prime and seems like a thoroughly decent person too.

He was most of those things. But his drop in form the last 2 years might be the beginning of an age related drop.OK well lets take it a stage further and tell me your exact thoughts on Son and why you think you are better at judging a top flight footballer.
Lets have a sensible approach and look at it through the glasses of a "football fan" and NOT from a "City fans" perspective.
Without my City glasses here are mine
1) Does he have a footballing brain ? YES
2 Does he still have plenty of stamina ? YES
3) Can he use both feet ? YES and very much so.
4) Could he compete for a regular place in our starting eleven ? Absolutely YES.
5) Is he a menace in the opponents penalty box ? YES
6) Is he a great"box to box" player ? YES
7) Can he head a ball ? Can he fuck.NO.
8) Has he been carrying this Spurs team since his arrival ? YES and for me he was the better player than Kane.
9) At 32 is he too old ? Doesn`t matter what age you are but if you look after your body (like Modric) then age is not a barrier for say a two year deal.
10) Would City get a good value for money return back ? IMO Yes.
11) Can he score goals regularly ? Too fucking right he can.
So theres my thoughts "oh I know more about football than you" supporter. ;)
We shouldn't be buying anyone's declining stars, talk less Spurs...
