Not sure if anyone has mentioned, but wondered what ppl thought of the Blue Moon song by the doves at the end of the game. i'm a big fan of the doves, but personally i dont think its a patch on the good old 'Boys in Blue'!! - GREAT song.

So what do you prefer, The Doves, or Boys in Blue?

i used to dispise that old song, after a top win they put on some cheesy 'boys in blue' song on.......fuck that, you want something more upbeat, a song more fitting of the current fans......maybe its my age (23) but it just sounded outdated to me.

city ta ta ta....we are the ones who are paid to play.............nah....time to move on me thinks =]

That's what makes it so good, it's naff but in a good way. Plus it must piss away fans right off when it gets played as I'd imagine it's quite irritating to non-blues.

i'm sorry but that 'we are the lads who are playing to win' shit is even more embarrassing as having that 'pride in battle' banner in our tunnel. may as well say 'it's not the winning or losing, it's the taking part'.

not heard the version of blue moon by doves, cant wait.

Boys in blue is so outdated, yes we are City from Maine Road, but the line "even when we playing down at Maine Road" is no longer relevant. The doves song is not upbeat enough to build the game before kick off, but is great to sing to on the way out of the ground

i know what you mean. im only 22, but i just like the old tradition of it. nothin better than beatin the rags at home and then singing along to that on the way out of the ground. Granted, it is cheesy, but catchy as hell
