Songs that rip off other songs.

The Prunes and Gavin were always seen as weird for North Dublin.
Weird is too small a word for it really.
Bono and himself lived on the same road in Finglas.
They worked well together later.

I bumped into a music journalist from Dublin few months back.

Said he had known both Friday and Bono from school. Days ,and had plenty of detail to back it up. Friday for all his apparent weirdness, never got too much stick or bother from his peers , he by all accounts could hold his own and didn't look the sort you would mess with.

I have their early releases including the ultra rare French pressed 10" box set ,a lavish production which must have been a loss leader because it's basically crap, lol.
However , 'Pagan Love Song' and' " Baby'turns Blue" are brilliant single releases. The Virgin Prunes are Ireland's finest ever band and U2 The waterboys SLF and the rest can all take a back seat ; )
